Honestly, I have no idea what a render is. I'm kind of new at this message board thing.
Render: A character or image by itself that can be posted and take the background of the thing it's posted on.
Stock Image: Pictures that have a background already.
That pretty much sums it up. As for your signature of FFIX, go the a signature shop and ask them to find you one. I am sure they will comply.
