Any one got some tips for the Octo Mammoth boss from FF IV Like what level i need to be and stuff.

I believe I was near the 20 area when I fought it, i'd advise using Cecil's Dark, Tellah's Fire and Rydia supporting with healing magic, basically any attacks that can hit all targets would be advisable, make sure all 3 stay alive and you should pull through after a short while.

Try to pick up all the equipment for Cecil on the way, should be a full set of 'Demon' armour in the caves along the way.

I don't know if it's different for the DS version but in the SNES version, Lightning magic works best since it's a water-based creature. :hmmm:

I'm pretty sure Tellah was around Level 20 when I got him. I think my Cecil was around Level 14 or 15 and Rydia was around level 10. I pretty much attacked with Cecil and used lightning magic with Rydia and Tellah and cured when necessary.

Yes he is weak against Dark and Lighting attacks but my levels are: Cecil :20 Rydia 18 and Tellah is 17 i think.

You should be more than capable of dispatching it at that level, just go with Dark and Bolt1/Thunder with Rydia and Tellah (could've sworn it hated fire, must be thinking of Ultros xD)

If you comfortably defeat the nearby enemies, odds are the boss is more than manageable.

Well i was so overleveled that i just put Auto battle on every fight in the cave and i beat him! thanks for the tip about the armour.

I just beat him again today for the umptenth time. What i did was had Cecil (lvl 14 ) attack, Rydia (lvl 10 or 11 ) Call Chocobo, and Tellah cast Lighting. After that he went down pretty quick (Chocobo is a must!)

Use Thunder.
And have Cecil attack like mad i suggest you train untill at least Lv.23(This makes Boss fights MUCH easier untill Cecil becomes a Paladin).

....Wait the FFIV SNES version, the PlayStation version,The GameBoy Advanced Version or the SNES 9X Emulator version (PC) ?(Each Version has diffrent difficulties.)
