I guess you all know about this merchant who asks you for money early game.

I'm wondering how much you actually give him and how fortunate it is for you later in the game.

I usually give him 20k+ which is quite worth it as he sells his weapons quite cheaper, I dunno till how much you cna go but I cant be bothered getting extra money by training 1 hour extra. I get my money back anyway cuz I play blitzball with the original aurochs (salaries are much lower ^^) and I usually end up having lots money till yojimbo anyway =).

Then when I killed Sin I already had 2 million so no money trouble there.

I only give him about maybe 1.000 i guess that´s why the guy as such high prices

i always gaved him 1k in my first game then on my second gave him 5k his weps were preety cheap

Agreed, when I get TKO from him at Operation Mi'ihen for Wakka, I normally keep it equipped right through until near the final battles Inside Sin, O'akka sells some really decent weapons throughout even if they are a little pricy

I've never gave him any Gil at the beginning of the game though, even if Gil isn't that hard to come by throughout the game

Donating 0 - 100 gil increases O'aka's prices to 200% of normal amount,
Donating 101 - 1,000 gil increases O'aka's prices to 150% of normal amount,
Donating 1,001 - 10,000 gil increases O'aka's prices to 120% of normal amount,
Donating 10,001 or more gil decreases O'aka's prices to 70% of normal amount

Did it really matter how much you gave him? Nvm, I guess it does. xD. I should replay again and go for a higher amount to give.

i gave him 30k once hoping he gave me a special item but he didnt but i got cheap stuff so that made up for it

it helps to loaf around abit in the sea with rikku and steal lots grenades, you can make quite some money by selling those.
