Anime Nothing is sacred anymore

That Batman is going to be bastardized. It's probably going to be turned into complete shit.

Before you know it, he's going to have a giant sword, spikey hair, become an angry generic anime character who is too much of a wuss to get laid, and be a super saiyan. :monster:

Oh, ok it sucks and all but I don't know about any of your problems.

lolwut? My problems? I posted this because:

1. It's news for teh animu community
2. Animu fans will rejoice
3. Bricks shall be shat by Batman fans

And as L pointed out, yes, that is why Batman turning animu is bad.

Eh, this is nothing new in comics. Marvel had a Japanese version of almost all their well-known heroes, there's a Japanese spawn, and DC has had it's fair share of animu atrocities. Batman is lame anyway.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

*longest "No" ever*
I wonder why there's always an asshole who wishes to ruin good characters. Now it's Batman....who is next?
Now from lame, he will become horrendously lame....

well i saw thsi coming..with teen titans and all being out.. it would only be a matter fo time before they started anime-ing other stuff. i also heard rumor that superman maybe next..

It's just the way he's written, uses his superman hax to triumph over any situation. You might as well be reading the same comic over and over again. His greatest strength is his popularity.

Superman hax? Greatest strength his popularity? What? Have you ever read a Batman comic in your life?

Batman has always kicked superman's ass. You Cannot say he uses superman to win, especially since most of the powerful characters in comics fear him more than superman.

And I am sort of pissed about this anime thing.
Batman has already had way too many cartoons made after him anyways. and as more and more series are created for a character their story qualities tend to go down. that is unless there is at least a 5 year gap between the series. And I can only imagine how they will ruin the personalities of each character

When I say superman hax, I don't mean he uses superman or his powers. If you've read batman you should know what I mean, nobody can fuck with batman and his amazing feats of impossibility. When I say popularity, I mean popularity among readers not fictional characters in the DC universe. If you've read any comic ever you should know that having a large fanbase will help a superhero win a fight before skill or super powers will. If you have a shop that sells comics near you pick up a couple of the latest batman, you'll see what I mean.

I know what you meant by popularity. As for his "amazing feats of impossibility", he uses his brains and gadgets and shit cuz he doesn't have superpowers, that's part of what makes him so interesting. He's just a pissed off rich man with a massive vendetta. Actually, him being so wealthy also makes him interesting, because you wouldn't expect a rich man to get his hands dirty beating super villains.

And there's plenty of times he's lost. Hell, Superman has a large fanbase too but that hasn't stopped DC from killing him on occasion and making him lose. And there are two comic shops in town, I've read plenty of Batman comics. Your argument is made of fail, you should give up. :elmo:

This thread is about Batman being turned animu anyway. So to bring this back on topic, I don't like it. I'm really quite tired of the animu trend as a whole and everything being drawn that way. I don't want Batman running around firing off energy blasts and having massive veins pop out of his forehead when he's angry.

Heh. I don't think you'll have to worry about that. Remember Cowboy Bebop? Samurai Champloo? Neither of those anime had energy blasts or massive veins popping out of the characters' foreheads when they got angry. It was all about skill and strategy. In fact, hardly any anime actually do that anymore. It was mainly just cliche Shounen anime back in the 1980's. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that I'm happy about Batman being turned into an anime and am still quite confident that it's going to suck bigtime. I'm just saying that you probably shouldn't be too concerned about it becoming a cliche Shounen anime.

That being said, I am kinda tired of American animation being drawn in that annoying quasi-anime, mock-Japanese style. As a fan of both, I must say that it's kind of insulting to both media. If you ask me, animators should just stick to their strengths instead of trying to appeal to a completely different market. While I'm not neccessarily worried that this will turn out as a massively stereotypical Shounen anime, I still don't have much confidence in it.

LOL BUT ANIME IZ RLY COOL AND BATMAN IS LYKE A NINJA RLY AND MAYBE THEYLL GIVE HIM SPESHUL POWERZ AND A TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE LIKE SAILOR MOON!

...Oh god, why. Batman is American. It is not meant to be anime. I mean, kudos to them for trying something new, but I think this can only end in tears.

Iiiiinteresting... My friend Kevin is a big comic book junkie, I wonder what he thinks of it. I'm a big fan of the anime/manga genre myself, as well as American comics.. it might be neat to see how it turns out. I'll reserve judgment until then. ;)

Anime like any other medium has its greats and its not so greats. Ye, the Batman anime could end up being terrible, Or we get a great new look on the Batman verse. Depending upon who's doing it we could get a more adult version of any other Batman shows.

As for it keeping its originiality. The highlander anime is pretty great, I don't know if its story is considerd cannon or not but it seemed well done.

Here's something scary to tell you all:

There's a yaoi manga loosely based off of Batman :devil2:

They guy's name is "Dark Knight" I think, and his eventual boyfriend is a villain that's is a little based off The Joker (appearance only).

It's only in Japanese, but I read the first chapter that was fan-subbed (scanlated).
