Help noob questions

Since this is my first post I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.

My main question is how do I upgrade my blitz team.

the sub questions of this are:

How do I gain xp for my current team?
How do I find other players to recruit (just beat the chocoboo monster)?

Been a while since I played, buuuuut....

You can upgrade abilities and such through the mark system. Match up your guys with opposing players who have abilities you want to copy. Once in a match, hit the button right when the little Techcopy! thing flashes, and voila, new abilities.

You gain XP by playing. Simple as.

Other players are wandering randomly around Spira. If they're recruitable, you can just walk up to a person and press square to offer them a contract. They have to be not currently under contract with another team though.

TTT's got most of that answered, there, but I can elaborate on this a bit... I think. I'm pretty sure you get one point for each time a character touches the ball, so if you were to, say, pass between Tidus and Jassu for a few minutes, you'd get quite a bit of exp.

1 point for when you touch the ball is quite correct.

Experience for all actions does not go above 6 EXP ranging from 1 to 6, if you want to build up EXP just use passes like Venom or Nap pass between your team members and will build nicely, the larger EXP portions are reserved fr the Goal Keeper given there limited interactions.

Just know the higher the action # such as Venom shot 3 or Wither Tackle 3 will net you more EXP than there lower abilities.

I would recommend picking up Ropp [Mi'ihen Highroad (Travel Agency)] as soon as you can as he makes an incredible defenceman. For the second defenceman I recommend Mep [Kilika Temple].

ALso, pick up Jumal [Luca Seaport (Square)] as your goalie for the first 30 levels , or so, of Blitz.

If the Al Bhed Psyches ever release Nimrook, which they never ever ever did for me, pick him up as your permanent goalie and never let him go =P.

Brother makes an excellent center as he has good speed, pass and decent attack. Of course Tidus is one of the wings and I like to move between a few players for the other wing, Wakka being one and usually Biggs as the other.

Note: If you can stand the pain of leveling up Nedus [Luca Harbor (Number 1 Dock)] he will eventually become the best wing, imho, in the game. However, he sucks unbelieveably bad until level 80 or so ; ;.
The one bad thing about having such a great defence is your golie never levels up, hehe. Jumal was 14 or 15 levels behind everyone else through most of the game for me.
