Well from what i have heard Nomura said we will not like him when he talks ( not his voice) but nomura says he will be related to us in many ways such as emotions, thoughts, bascially human nature so why wont we like him? if he will be normal or like us also he said he is extremly shy i've seen images when he is with his friends he doesnt seem like a bad character. but in the trailer he is a badass...but he seemed evil like to me when i first saw it i dont know what to think anymore about noctis's character *there is nothing either good or bad*so we wont know if noctis is bad or good we will have to find out throughout the game...so how do we know we're not playing for the bad side this time? If noctis is bad we would probably dislike his characters cause he might be selfish uncaring to people he doesnt know and rather not TRY to trust someone new that comes his way.Until they do something to show him..(Stella?)

Nomura also stated that Noct smiles a lot as well, we just haven't had a chance to see it yet. Nomura has said he wants to make this game as realistic as possible, giving the characters real traits, real human emotions, etc...don't judge a personality based on looks is what I've been told and it's true. He might look emo, but I can assure you he's not.

NOMURA'S STATEMENTS[/COLOR][/B]
Noctis's personality is different from any other character in the Final Fantasy franchise (including that of Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII and Squall Leonhart of Final Fantasy VIII), one that Nomura had wanted to try out for a long time.[14] In the past, protagonists were given strong personalities while the distinctive ones were delegated to the supporting cast, but Nomura states Noctis's idiosyncrasies mark a departure from this tradition. Although his character is said to be hard to define given his complexities, a good measure of his personality can be sensed from his first meeting with Stella.Despite his cold and unsociable appearance, Noctis hides his shyness underneath a façade of coolness in front of her. However, he acts more openly around his three friends, usually smiling,a testament to Nomura's statement that "he is not the least bit a silent, gloomy little boy."[

based on what we were told, as you said it's gonna be more real, in the sense that they are concentrating more on the human side (our emotions and what not) than previous Final Fantasy's, if that's true, then he would have his ups and downs. He's not going to be evil (atleast i don't think so) to me it seems like he is going to be doing what he believes is right, and his enemies are going to be doing what they believe is right, that would make it more real if you ask me, and is how i believe it is going to be.

To me he seems like a guy who's gonna have bad sides towards everyone rather than just his enimies cause to me to make a character more human you can make him like a saint who treats his friends with care and then turns to his enimies with anger, but if you mix these two you'll create a character who has more feelings.

But the overall personality i'd say he's gonna be a bit stubborn, maybe cocky, but he always keeps his mind on what he's meant to be doing.

Thats kinda how i'm hoping him to be like.

From what we've seen, I'm getting a feeling that he's going to be a cold and closed-off person to everyone but this Stella character. The whole "Star of the Night" reference that I've before would be my first theory.

Secondly, he's a "lord" and we know that national unrest is present in the world of XIII, and so I can just tell that he'll be a bitter person --possibly because of everything he's lost, of because of the responsibilities he has to saving people-- and he'll only come out of his shell when around Stella.

I think that maybe he'll have many character flaws to emphasise his real-ness and that over the course of the game he begins to realise that he needs to be more forgiving of others faults in face of his own?

But the more realistic the better I think.

Well from what i have heard
also he said he is extremly shy
i've seen images when he is with his friends he doesnt seem like a bad character. but in the trailer he is a badass...but he seemed evil like to me

Well psychologically some people call shy as a first hint that the person is antisocial. (hince why i hate psychology) Let's take people in real life, people who don't talk as much. I know as a kid I was definitely a hell of a shy one, and people sometimes don't like that. They think you are either "dumb" or are inverted. Inverted meaning you are holding something in.. maybe evil intent? Maybe holding grudges? or maybe you are jaded?

Maybe finally Square Enix thought of a real life person, and threw as many characteristics about him or her into this character. Maybe Noct is more feminine, like say Maynard James Keenan of Tool, and they made him bottled up with emotions. Something tells me this evil character will have alot of strife, alot of jadedness, alot of distain for other stereotypes of people. Maybe this guy is mentally unstable, and has cracked finally..

That's just how I see it.

Nomura also stated that Noct smiles a lot as well, we just haven't had a chance to see it yet. I'm sure he's not emo. Emo is more of a look these days than an emotional offset of feelings. When I hear someone younger than myself talk of suicidal threats when they are just needing attention .. well I sure as hell wouldn't want the main "evil" guy in the new FF to be like this.

What would make a heck of an evil character was someone battling with his own "demons" inside his head. He might have been brought up a certain way, or like I said before something aweful happened in his own life, in which caused a huge depression to occur in him. He then chooses to take it out on everyone else, but in the end.. sacrifices himself for the system he has hated. Like a person who finally saw an epiphany.

Just a thought.

Well if he is gonna be HUMAN like us i highly doubt he will be mentally unstable and will crack..to be that way IS NOT NORMAL lol
thats why there mental hospitals. plus nomura already stated clearly that he will not be like strife.he speaks of kh and says that the kh world was a world of kindness and people doing things for the good
then he says..he lived in that kind of world for far too long
which would mean..FF13 would be the complete opposite
which again makes me think noctis would be kind coldhearted to his enemies and people he doesnt know

Let's just say he reminds me alot of Sephiroth, with the stand offish inverted look. He looks like he is all powerful from the trailer. I definitely am getting versus on ps3 and not the normal, I need a good ole fashion Dark natured RPG.

I just hope for our sake we can identify with Noct. Noct seems to be the protagonist, but he looks more like the bad guy. Also I think it's interesting that his name means night (derived from latin), so if he's the night.. then who is the day? The blonde? We will see I guess..

Let's all keep an open mind.

Stella means star or something..but noctis doesnt seem entirely evil
as i said nomura states he will smile alot and he will be more human than any other ff characters..and we are not all evil lmao

Did the soldiers in the trailer remind you of shinra by chance? (FFVII)

And yea, we are not all evil, but we have the ability to do evil at one time or another. So let's see how the story rolls out, I just hope this final fantasy is something.. refreshingly new.

i believe its gonna be just as good as FF7
maybe even better since they are putting more time into the making of this

Lets try not to steer this too far off topic please ^^

From what I've seen in traielrs, Noctis actually seems to be pretty wise, and a profound thinker. It's strange, because how he looks and would put you in mind of Cloud (or a 'dark cloud'). Cloud isn't particularly deep. But from the trailer, the way he sits in the chair and ponders, contemplating, looking so sorrowful. I think he's going to be quite a deep character. I got the idea that he was contemplating what he does (ie the fighting) and he seemed disillusioned, troubled, fed up etc.

I think that his personality will come across as bitter, he'll want to do things on his own all the time. No one will understand what he's going through his mind all the time (though obviously we dont know yet either) and this will come across in his personalty- he'll seem bitter, cold towards epopel, uncaring about people (i feel he will distance himself from people in general), his speech will be snappy, cold, cruel even. All covering up the true wisdom that lies beneath (because I really have a feeling, don't know why, that he's very intelligent).

He looks young, and my idea that he has the thinking of an older wise man doesn't seem right perhaps. Since he can distort time, perhaps he is immortal, hence the looking so young?

Anway, to sum up: wise, troubled, deep, cold, distant. Also, people think he may be 'cocky' or stuck up- if he is a prince, this might indeed be reflected in his exterior personality.

i hope he is like that. if he is based upon us..he must be a lil resistant to listen or he may be the complete opposite
but once we are sick of somin we explode so i think he will be sick of either protecting the crystal, killing, or just being a prince

When i seen the little trailer on youtube i thought that he would be the bad guy and Lighting the good guy but it seems like i was wrong and that i think he may but the good guy and would be badass and awesome.

OMG i thought the same thing specially the pics they made with them on the split side lightening sitting on a chair full of light
and he was sitting on his throne full of darkness
FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD lighting and noctis LIVE in the same world.
so what if they do meet?!?!?
correct me if im wrong

That would be awesome if they meet and Lightining get in a fight with Noctis and then they relize that they are fighting for the same cause and then help each other.

I can already tell this story will hit home to me. If you put everything into perspective without taking it out of context, Noctis seems to be VERY human. He seems to be a little more real than the previous FF "good guys" I mean who wants to see the same immature or dumbed down version of cloud over and over again? I think Noctis will be fresh and hopefully people can take something from the story between him and Stella.

Again I think we will see a troubled prince who has tired of seeing the downfalls of his kind. He will try to revolutionize the system around him, and whether he seeks to protect or destroy the crystal, I think we will be intrigued every step of the way.

But that's just me.
