I have an idea that -could- help boost forum activity, get new affliates. The current ones, which i checked out while FFF had a server move, are either - dead, or inactive. Wouldn't it be good if we had a whole new list of affliates to replace the dead / inactive ones?

Feedback and suggestions about who could be potential affliates please :)

Currently affiliates are located at the bottom of the main webpage.

Well I saw Koloth linking a site to vgchat or something in shoutbox? Which seems like a good idea to become affiliates with popular General video game forums. Final Fantasy is the most recognized JRPG after all. ;P

VGC? It's in the word filter for a reason.
How many other FF sites are actually active nowadays? It seems to me that the whole community of FF fans are giving up on forums.

That was another VGC, actually. It's a different one, not run by WoI at all and, apparently, it has over 32000 members now.

I was saying this last night actually; FFF seems to be dying out. My guess is that it's because there's simply a point where you can no longer talk about Final Fantasy or be bothered to join any forums related to games and such like. It just becomes dull.

Who'd want to affiliate with us?
Hahahahahaha.

True.... =/ I remember back in the late 90s and early 2000s there were many Final Fantasy fan sites. The fad has died.

Probably the only thing that would really make FFF skyrocket in members is when FFXIII is released in the US and Europe. Possibly Crisis Core as well since it is a major spin off of FFVII.

Well in theory FFXII should've done that, but alas it didn't

AG was saying eariler that over 200 members join around October - Novemeber 06. That is quite a lot of members, and that is around the time when FFXII was released in North America.

Were not going to get another wave of new members not until after Christmas. Since all of the kids are going to make an account here asking for help on games. Ah well, a few of them will stay.

Thats what i think too, the November/December period is when most people signed up, although a fair few could have been put off by the...unpleasentness last christmas, i'm sure that we'll recieve a decent amount of active members then..

Look at today though, FFF has been quite active - activity just has its bad days i guess ^_^

Someone said to me on msn you could affliate with Gamefaqs? Does anyone know if that is possible or not?

Uhhh that is impossible.... Gamefaq is affliated with sites such as Metacritic.com and gamerankings.com. These sites get millions of hits everyday. Basically....Gamefaq is elite....FFF isn't.

An affiliation with a popular gaming site would be an ideal scenario, but I have to agree that I doubt it would happen anytime soon. I’m sure their affiliation requirements are pretty impossible to attain at the moment, no to mention FFF would probably be at the bottom of a very long list of others begging for the same. :sad2:

People have other priorities in life too.

Anyway, I've got bored myself of ff chat here, noone seems to be posting anything really interesting discussion wise. I always seem to be repeating myself..

Oh yeah, blame it on the justice seekers :wacky:

Maybe FFF is dying out as a combination of the above things and the current lack of Mass PM Advertising on other sites. Not that I want that to start up again, but I can assure you, that's why FFF became so popular, initially.

That's how I came to be here. Someone sent me a PM at thefinalfantasy.com telling me that there was this new forum that needed new members, so I took a look and joined. That was back in late July, almost August.

Basically one of the main reasons for the lack of activity, there's only so much you can discuss a game before you end up talking about it again and again. Especially if the two most talked about games are 8-10 years old.

There'll be bursts of new members when new games and stuff come out but FF in general isn't as big as even 5 years ago with other games (and interests) out there.
