Let's see, Itachi would kill Cloud, Sephiroth would kill Orochimaru, Naruto would beat the sh*t outta Yuffie, Yuffie would fall in love with Sasuke, Sakura & Ino would fight Yuffie over Sasuke, etc...

No, they're just older. They've done nothing but train for 2 &1/2 years and have improved on everything. Though Naruto himself is still an idiot(not as much though).

I haven't seen how broken the Naruto characters are later on, but from what I have seen I'd say Final Fantasy VII characters would come out on top. After all, VII leads us to believe that, through the Black Materia, Sephiroth is capable of destroying a planet. I don't know of any Naruto characters that have that scale of power behind them. Perhaps if you'd picked a more over the top anime or manga then it would've been different.

Sephiroth alone can use the planet as a vessel to travel the universe and destroy other planets. Puting him AND all the other FFVII characters in this fight, is overkill.

What about someone who can steal your body from you and turn your power into his own? (Orochimaru) Or someone who can torture you for 72 hours in a split second? (Itachi)
