This only just came to mind because, after a very long time of trying to kill the habit OF my nail biting habit, I bit my nails just right now.

It is annoying and sad lol, I say, "Ok, just one nail..." then every nail is bitten off. It is so gross, but I can't help it. I do it when I am zoned out, bored, and of course when I am nervous.

So, does anyone else nail bite?

Erm no. >.> I find it quite disgusting to be honest, no offense to anyone. I never did get into the habit of biting nails since I'm very strict about clean nails and making them look nice (even though I hardly use nail polish). A lot of people actuallly say I have very nice nails since they're not wide but rather kinda thin and longish. (Like fake nails that you would buy at the store). So yeah, no need to bite my nails at all.

I guess that is true lol, but I can't even have my nails so long, or I get some anxiety attack when I don't bite them. -_-

I bite them every now and again, I don't do it that often, just when I'm nervous really. I had no nails left to bite after my GCSE exams. -__-

I don't bite my nails, I hate it. My mate bites heres and I always crack her round the head and tell her to stop it, she is doing rather well at the moment though

I just find it rather gross (say's me with my bad habits) I have a thing for hands though and I like nice hands with nice clean looking nails, not all gnawed right back so the fingers are like squidgy blobs. If I break mine I get annoyed, I hate feeling the flesh at the end and it huuuuuuurts

Also, how the hell am I meant to pick my nose with out nails? Or scratch an itch? Or Army Guy when he steps out of line? Or just in a plain kinky way.....*ahem*

Yeah, I do NOT bite my nails

Lol, I think it is gross too, I really want to stop, it is an annoying habit of mine. My sister said it takes 3 weeks to kill a habit. I was doing so well. T-T

I bite my nails all the time, it's like smoking cigarettes, so yuck but can't...help...myself

Im just like you. I use to always bite my nails, specially when i waz bored or just thinking and not even notice it. Though I trained myself to stop biting them, took a couple of weeks to get the hang of it but now i never even think about it. Plus biting nails is a good way to get pineworms lol so stop! =D

I used to bite my nails but stopped when I found out that nails contain many bacterias which may also include tapeworm eggs (eww, i no). I don't know how's that possible...

My main problem with biting nails is that I don't like long nails. I'd rather have super short nails than long ones. I also bite the skin around my nails, as weird as it sounds.

Same thing with toenails. I obviously don't bite them, I just take humugo clippers and clip everything off until they bleed. I think that habit came from seeing my dad's toenail fungus, I didn't want my feet to get that way, and I know I'm not helping by clipping everything off, but I can't stop. My family has to hide the toenail clippers from me, like some parents do with cookie jars for their little kids. >_<

I bite my nails some, I used to a lot more, but I haven't as much lately, guess I just don't like having long nails, but don't feel like fetching nail clippers. :P

As a kid I used to pick at my nails with the opposing hand a fair bit, but that stopped when I hit about 10. Biting nails has never looked remotely appealing, or anything short of pointless and disgusting.

I don't like my nails being short at all to be honest, so they kind of... grow somewhat lengthy before I resort to cutting them - though I always get rid of them before I start looking overly feminine with them. >_>

Oh god I hate that too, it's such a weird feeling I can't stand it. ><

I like to keep my nails longish so obviously I don't bite them off. I do have a habit of chewing on my nails though, mainly because I get really fidgety if I'm not chewing on something. >< I hate when I get told to stop it, I have to chew on a plastic bottle or something instead.

Ah I have to admit, I do chew them on occassion, but never enough to break them...I just always have things in my gob, Im like a kid :gasp:

Yeah you're pretty much the same as me. >_> I wear nail polish a lot though and hate to chip the ends off so I sometimes just sit with the ends of my fingers in my mouth, not actually chewing or anything. :wacky: I'm such a baby.

I haven't cut my nails since I was a toddler because I keep mine trimmed by biting them. It never occurs to me to go and grab the nail scissors. I've become quite adept at it and all of my nails tend to be short, straight and smooth at the edges. :wacky:

What I do need to stop is biting my SKIN. If I drag off a nail, sometimes it takes a flap of skin with it. I then bite off that loose skin but then that drags back and reveals more loose skin. Before I know it, I'm up to my knuckles in raw skin because I've bitten it off. It's not pleasant. This becomes more of a nervous habit than anything else. I do the same with the insides of my gums.
