so let's cool it down, pweeze. Discuss your differing views, just keep it calm. I'm very much enjoying reading both providing views on who Cloud is and whether or not he was a real or fake Cloud.

That's all well and good but you are completely ignoring Advent Children and the Creators words. Cloud wasn't just acting like a Hero he was acting like Zack and Zack definitely isn;t the kind of person to say "Blow off" to someone, or tell someone that he doesn't care about their problems or the fate of the world -- that's all Cloud.

Cloud wasn't just picking up a random persona -- he was picking up Zacks and Zack isn't a jack-ass, he's nice.

I thought it was just Cloud playing the role he'd always wanted to be since he was young -- namely, the role of a big hero that's cool and collected and hardass. He took Zack's experiences but the attitude was a child's idealized version of what a hero should be. Thus the asshole-ish attitude at times.

That's what I always thought at least. Made sense to me~

Cloud was never like Vincent, that's more than a stretch and its not like Vincent sits there saying "..." all the time, he's metaphorical and Cloud was never like that, pre-lifestream even or post-lifestream event. How does saying he'll make a ruckus and cheering up a friend mean he's not a jack-ass. Its more him defining himself than anything else -- he's an ass but that doesn't mean he can't cheer his friends up -- like when Yuffies suffering from motion sickness he goes and gives her words of comfort as well -- he's still an ass.

I don't mean literally like Vincent, not 100% like him, I mean just in that kind of style. The very cold, aloof, "I am a badass, hear me scowl" kind of a thing. Vincent is like that all the time -- Cloud was sorta like that but then toned it down a bit.


Hmmm. Perhaps we just aren't on the same page of what defines "acting like an ass". When I hear that, I think of a person being an ass to everyone, without exception, all the time. Like Squall, but much worse. An ass like that treats even his friends like shit.

So -- I think we may have been on different pages the entire time. Maybe we should just settle on the common ground that while Cloud can be an ass, he's also a loveable ass. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here in his FANCLUB! x3

I'd say Tifa has some plans for Cloud in the long run, it's just debatable as to whether Cloud would concede to those plans!

The Club is about Cloud not Tifa, so why she and the LTD have to keeping popping up everywhere is beyond me. It just seems snarky to keep bringing these to things up in an club where neither thing is the topic and are quite controversial topics anyway.

And remember, it's Yuffie that called him a pain in the ass, because she was pissed she didn't get to join in on the fun to clobber Kadaj. What a funny little violent ninja girl!

He was taking money from the Bar and keeping it to himself -- in secret, contrary to openly saying "Hey! Imma take some money? Okey, yall?" He did it secretly. As well as going to Aeriths moms, the Forgotten City and the Church in secret.

Tifa saw it like such and Cloud saw it like such -- secrets.

Well, there are no metaphors at my disposal that would fit the situation. Gosh. So I used the only example I could think of. Sheesh.

It makes more sense to me -- He took Zack's experiences and mixed it with his own fantasy and then got this hardass "I don't give a shit" identity. And we never actually see it said that he took Zack's experiences -- we DO see him say that he takes Zack's stories.....

:\ So it's really left open, in all honesty. I'm going to be a strict interpretationist and stick with the THEORY that Cloud was playing a hard-ass hero role he'd always imagined since he was young. I like it better. But that's just me.

Totally rock music. Mainly, I'm thinkin' he'd listen to the classic stuff. It goes with his whole "bad boy" & "I ride a motorcycle" image he has. I don't care how dumb it sounds, but I think he'd like Bad Company... or(yes!) even Led Zeppelin. Definitely the older rock music though.

I actually picture Cloud listening to Indie, and Alternative rock. It fits him to not really listen to categorized music. Since he is an independent person, I'd say he listens to independent music. But I'd say he's more into the harder music. So independent alternative indie rock.

Edit: But even though he's into that music, his favorite song is the chocobo song. He listens to it ALL the time.

What kind of movies do you think he'd like? or dislike?

I thought this would be a fun question!

I think he'd like lots of action-type films with maybe some deeper story-lines. I'm just gonna say it, also, he'd probably like classic western films especially since he's a "country boy" Maybe True Grit or BC&tSDK I don't think he'd like watching much movies often, but if he ever watched a few films, I think it'd be like the Departed, Inception, The Bourne Identity, Collateral, or even Dusk till Dawn type of films.

I don't think he'd watch any romance films(maybe only if his GF dragged him to one) so that's all I can see him really not watching. I'd like to think of him as possibly liking comedies... but seeing how Cloud doesn't take well to jokes, he probably wouldn't like jokes in comedies very much.

Damn, I was going to say Inception, too! Action films and the like I think he'd definitely like. But he'd also have a taste for old horror films, I think. You know, the kind we never take seriously today -- Dawn of the Dead, King Kong, Jaws, and all that. Cult stuff and the like. I don't know why, but I think he'd love old monster movies like that -- perhaps because monsters aren't all that scary. The truly scary ones are the types that have familiar faces and sharp-toothed grins. I don't think he'd like Invasion of the Body Snatchers at all, however. Or The Thing.

Transformers and Aliens would definitely be on the list. Transformers because it has a lot of dakka and machinery and Aliens because it has it even more so. And the aliens are PERFECTLY NON-SHAPECHANGING and therefore simple to kill.

But romance and comedies and mysteries are a no. Cloud does not strike me as the type that would particularly like romance and comedies, simply because both are too frivolous to keep his attention. And mysteries would be too predictable -- after living through one of the world's greatest deceptions and manipulations, I think Cloud would find a mystery movie very bland indeed. :dave:

I also think he'd keep a stash of animated movies. Because who doesn't love at least some of those movies, right? How To Train Your Dragon is a must.

I said it comes off snarky when you insist on incessantly bringing peoples love debates into it. Thats all, I never said you are snarky. I don't care about Tifa's feelings since this is a Cloud Club.

No, he took on Zacks Persona, not just his life. Well, the Ultimania's confirm he was taking Zacks personality and created a multiple personality conflict.

He was being Cloud and Zack, no hard-ass hero character in place at anytime, just Cloud being either Real Cloud or Zack Cloud at either time.

Just saying; all the things like telling Wedge to 'Blow off', or telling Biggs he 'didn't care what their names are' that was real Cloud not a made up Character.

I can't see Cloud owning that kind of silly technology, I think he'd be fine listening to a classic rock radio station or anything like that. Now, a phone is different; since he doesn't like answering it anyway. But not liking to answer his phone is what led me to my conclusion of him not owning an iPod.

I think he'd like movies like Inglorious Basterds, Old Westerns (like you said Cali!), and stuff like that you know, real burly manly man movies. But I also think he'd like old movies too; like Night of Hunters and stuff. Movies he'd hate -- the obvious; Twilight, Steel Magnolia's and the corny movies like Waterworld and Dances with Wolves -- But I also think he'd like the Resident Evil movies, it seems like his bag.

xD Good point! It may also have something to do with the fact that I'm terrible at FPS on the console that helped contribute to my fail-tastic playing of DoC.

Pretty interesting post Dragon Mage about breaking down VII's storyline. I saw some mistakes in the plot and whatnot but I'll get back to that with some details later on after I'm done writing a response about it.

Expect that in a few days I just feel it's good to discuss.

about the LTD: Who cares if Tifa or Aerith love Cloud, he doesn't pay attention to either. He's still single, and he definitely ain't looking for a relationship. I know some of us may prefer a pairing, but in this club we're gonna put ships aside and go with what's canon... Cloud being single and not making a move on anyone. that should keep this club LTDless and more fun.

Thank you, I'm glad you approve! Just keep in mind there's quite a bit of extrapolation and I only explained the bits of the plot that seem to confuse people the most. Like I said in the post, I'm pretty sure I'm only 99% correct, so there may be holes and whatnot. I did my best to extrapolate from what was supported in the original script and tried to avoid any busy theories, but there's only so much human error that can be squeezed out, you know?

Though I've sadly never gotten a chance to play CC, I know that it punched a lot of holes in the plot; especially in regards to Genesis. I say they did it on purpose for when they do the re-make of 7 with a better script and story-telling.
