I've started my first Final Fantasy game (X), and I'm really enjoying it. But now the battles are getting a little tougher as I've gotten to the Thunder Plains, and so I'm looking for a little help.
I've already figured out that IXION is pretty much immune to most of these pesky fiends, but I don't want to just overly rely on him/her?
What else works well against Aerouge, Larva (a really annoying one), Buer, Iron Giant...all of these fiends...
Any help would be appreciated, and by the way...awesome forum here!
Thanks,
Chuck:rolleyes:

All thunder elemental enemies are weak against Water, so that comes in very useful on the Thunder Plains. Also, Auron and Wakka should both have very high strength so will be able to do a lot of damage. If you're taking a lot of damage, then have Yuna heal
If the battles become too hard, then travel back a little way and level up against some easier enemies until you're strong enough to take on the ones on the Thunder Plains

i suggest having your main party as Yuna, Tidus and Auron/Rikku

Tidus works nice as a tank because of his early Provike ability, Yuna works well as a healing, and Auron is a good sedoncary tank(he has more HP then Tidus, but is slower) while Rikku can be a nice secondary healer(al bhed potions) so it's a matter of preference wether you want a second tank or healer, both Auron and Rikku can do a lot of damage, only Auron does it in large bursts while Rikku does it faster with lower hits

use Flee(which you should have with Tidus) to get away from the Iron Giants, i found them too much effort to kill at this point, the others should be just attack and black magic(water, watera or waterga)(if you learned Yuna to use black and white magic at the same time as i did, if you didn't, just cast Pray)
when one of your characters loses close to half health, heal him using a Cure/Cura or Curaga

as a last note, relying on Aeons isn't wrong, they're there to be used, only they are very weak in certain boss fights, Seymour for example can Banish them, making them die instantly

Huh, usually, if it's getting to difficult I just stay around an area with a Save Sphere and then fight for around 30 minutes, using everyone that you have to power them up as to not get into trouble if you have to use them. I suggest leveling up a bit here until it takes at least roughly 3-4 battles to get one sphere level. But if you fight some Iron golems, I suggest you do, they offer a lot of EXP for this portion of the game, especially if Auron has Armour break at this point...

Not wanting to spoil anything for you, just make sure your main physical attackers do at least around 500 damage+, if they can do past 1000 your set...
