My bookmarks are gone D:

Okay, so while one Firefox today it crashed on me, so I restarted my computer and when I started it again, my bookmarks were all gone! And the history is gone too I think. As well, I got a pop-up about a google tool bar that I think means that I started a new firefox update/profile thingy

Can you tell I'm not computer savvy

I've been lookin' a little bit about lost bookmarks on the web, but most of the advice on this has to do with looking through my computer hardrive for some files titles "bookmarks", but I can't find any of them D:

I think something similar has happened to me before. A pop-up box came up, saying that the current firefox I was using was being used or something, I clicked on something (really had no choice) and poof, my bookmarked lists disappeared. So I had to start over again. Now, the weird part is that after MONTHS later, the same thing happened again (pop-up box and all) and then voila, the original list of bookmarked items I had came back but then I lost the 2nd one I started using. It'll switch over from time to time but it seriously takes months before it does that.

Up to this day I have no idea what causes that or how to retrieve the list as soon as possible.

Okay, what the hell? I didn't notice before, but I can't see the ShoutBox anymore

Like, it IS there, but it's in a permanent "loading" status with zero users

And it's not just FFF; two other sites I go to with a ShoutBox kind of thing
are in a smilar state?

Your computer is not registering your Firefox files, so it is starting up another mode of Firefox. The simple solution to this is to just simply close Firefox by shutdown and that usually will cause it to relocate the files.

So just shut down the computer while keeping FireFox running, and that should get my old profile back?

Might it is a simple trick of making the computer do what you want it to not the other way around.

I think I found my bookmarks. They were under the title of "Favorites" in my computer. I haven't checked through it all, but it seems to be all there
