Musings about FFXII

Fran from what I'm aware is at least 50, although her actual age is unknown.
The male Viera live separately from the female Viera and only make contact when needed.
No, Larsa is a boy. :wacky:
 
Erm......OK, just randomness here.

Larsa doesn't look that girl like does he? I never really distinguished him as being anything feminine like. Then again I refuse to believe that he's 12 years old either.

When I first saw Larsa (don't remember if it was in game or in a screenshot) I thought he was a short woman. But now that I know he's a boy he looks like a boy to me.
 
Really? I consider him to be very feminine. It's just the way he dresses and the way he tilts his head in the ending FMV (
where he's giving the letter to Basch
). He's more feminine than I!
 
I see what you mean in the FMV. I guess I'm used to seeing boys with long hairstyles like Larsa in both real life and on screen that Larsa seemed normal to me.

But I really don't see Larsa as having the demeanour of a 12 year old. You wouldn't think a 12 year old would be so mature and independent. I suppose it helps if you're the son of an Emperor.
 
I think it was the facial structure and slight build that led some to believe he was a girl. Once he spoke I had no doubt was a man.

If people really did look at his hair and think woman just because of the length... well, I guess I'm in trouble, eh? I have hair quite a ways past my shoulders.

I quit trying to quess Fran's age. The only thing that I know is that she's over 50 which I saw mentioned somewhere else in this thread.

I also wondered about the male Viera for quite some time. It just seemed weird that the only ones seen on the game were female--I mean, they had to be born SOMEHOW, right? xD

And when I first saw Larsa, I seriously thought that he was a girl! xD And when he spoke it didn't change! I was like "Hm! She's an odd looking girl!" Turns out that I was wrong.

Ummm...One thing that I wonder about is the Great Crysal in Giruvegan. How did it get there? And is it supporting itself or resting on something like mist or water or even something solid? And I thought that Giruvegan was a city....It doesn't look very city like to me....
 
Giruvegan (great name) as I recall, was ruled by the Occuria. But at the present time, the Occuria left the city and sealed its front doors. It was never explained why. It was never a Hume-built city because no Hume could ever enter in the first place (until you come along with Belias), and I suppose it's all Occurian architect.

The in-game lore says something about it being covered in Mist now. So like Nabudis, what was once a "city" is now a monster-infected dwelling. I have no idea myself how the Crystal is standing at the bottom though. In fact, I have no idea how SE named the areas of the crystal. The names are all nonsensical to me!
 
The official guide book mentioned something about the naming of the crystal areas. It mentioned something about flower parts and eras from like...waaaaay back....dinosaur back! xD Thanks for answering my question! I should've paid more attention to the game--I probably would've put two and two together and reached that conclusion, I mean---DUURR---you had to open the gate with an esper and it's not like you can find those suckers lying around! xD
 
Larsa never looked like a girl to me. I mean, yes he's slightly feminine, but he's only twelve, and that's okay. But then, I suppose I could see how it easy it is to make that mistake. But surely his voice would sort it all out, because, no matter how he looked, he certainly didn't sound like a girl.

Fran's old, that's all I know. But she sure doesn't look it.
 
I'll admit, when I first saw AND heard Larsa, I thought he was a girl! I thought he had a very feminine design and I thought he sounded girly, too. He became my favourite character though, is he the one with the unlimited X-Potions? :P Plus, he was such a cutie!

Fran's age... whatever it may be, she sure looks good for it! ^^;
 
I always wonder about the cultural/ethnic background of some of the characters in this one.

Dirty little secret: The crystal area names are directions. Apparently, SE decided it would be fun to have the fanbase map out on our own about 30+ zones.

Second, I expected Larsa to be a guy. The guys continue to get more girly every time a new game comes out.

And the Viera are asexual. Or they're like those weird bugs that can change sex depending on which one is needed.

One of the above was a joke.
