Music in ffVII

Hello everyone, I recieved a PM from lord of darkness on the ediosinteractive forums. So I joined up and hopefully I can get some answeres here that I didn't recieve on that website. My sound card doesnt support midi, which in turn doesn't allow the music to play. All I hear is the bing noise from the menu's and sword slashes... ect. So I was planning on buying a new sound card for about $50.00 give or take. I heard sound blaster live cards were the way to go, but im not sure which one specifically. Also I dont want to "downgrade" from my current card which is a Realtek AC'97 Audio (onboard). Anyone have any suggestions?

PS: Sorry if this isnt a site to ask tech. questions like this. I just really want this game to work properly cuz I love it :)
 
I'm not sure, so what I'll do is I'll move this into the general chat section (which seems like the most appropriate place) and Vulcan can decide whether or not to allow this thread to stay open.

maybe this should be moved to the technology sub-forum
and when i was reading through Raz's post i was like wtf all the time
 
i think he is asking for help in choosing...... his sound card.....
now this should be moved to tech and computers forum or a help thread/forum i think
