I've actually never noticed that...

I think the only character that has any sort of good look to them is Tifa from FFVII, but still, it's weird because it's a video game character. I'm sure there's some sort of uniquely-minded individuals out there fantasizing (no pun intended) about her somewhere.

Ivalice is a different world so no wonder their clothes are so weird. SE made it so that it could stand out. I mean can you compare these clothes to the previous series? And that game is for over 16 after all.

Maybe 16 for the violence, but not the partical nudity. Although I dont class it as partical nudity. But some members might.

People actually have a real reason to dress scantily in XII, though. It's not like Rikku in her bikini tromping through the mountains. In Ivalice it's primarily desert regions that the people inhabit, thus cooler clothes.

As Sapphire Star said before, other cultures don't look down on seeing flesh as much, it's primarily a thought influenced by Christian/Catholic culture as being indecent, rather than seeing the body for the art that it is.
