Mist Village

Okay, so at the beginning of the game, the King of Baron has Cecil and Kain deliver a bomb package to the village of Mist, obviously to destroy the town. I have to ask though: Why? Was Mist some sort of a threat to Baron? A small village of summoners couldn't possibly be a threat to Baron and the Red Wings.

It's been a while since I played but I think the King actually did feel they were a threat to him because they could summon powerful monsters.

I guess since it wasn't the real King anyway, it was actually Golbez who wanted them destroyed.
