KH Spinoffs Minor Kingdom Hearts 3D update

Looking at Siliconera just now (my ghod, I have no life >_>) and saw they have a tentative list of 3DS games and when they'll be released:

KH 3D seems to be set for Summer 2011. I dunno about you guys, but that's...not that far off in retrospect o_O

EDIT: Ah, my bad, may bad, I read the article wrong. According to the source, KH3D is likely scheduled for SUMMER 2012.

Whoa, almost a year since the last thread post, but a whole lot of stuff got revealed in the past months. I'm sure you guys already have seen most of things out there though xD

I did stumble upon this trailer. It's basically the same 8-minute trailer that we've all been drooling over (well, I have) but about half the size, however a couple of lines of extra dialog show up that's not in the longer trailer.

I'm crossing my fingers for S-E to release this around the world not too long after Japan. Re:Coded only had about a 3 month wait post-Japan, so here's hoping for the same >.<

“Many Truths” Will Be Revealed At The End Of Kingdom Hearts 3D

Kingdom Hearts series director, Tetsuya Nomura, has more to say about the game’s story. Speaking with Famitsu magazine, Nomura discusses the game’s key characters and teases what we can look forward to seeing resolved at the end of the game.

“If I had to say who the key persons were, I’d say they are the silver haired boy and Axel,” Nomura shares. “This time at the end of the story, there will be the longest cutscene of the whole series where the true form of Ansem and Xemnas, as well as their goals and many other truths will be revealed all at once.”

Nomura also talks about the game’s new Ability Link and Dream Eater systems.

“At first, I initially wanted to develop another form of the command board from Birth by Sleep,” Nomura reveals. “Then I mixed the growth systems of Re:Coded and 358/2 Days and came up with a new idea that became the Ability Link feature.”

According to Nomura, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will take about 35 hours to complete. The game is slated for release on March 29th.

Hmm any speculation on the red eyed guy in the robes?

I know it isnt a heartless because they are in the realm of sleep and as yen sid stated in the jump festa trailer heartless cannot reach the realm of sleep.

Many speculate it is vanitas before he had a form but i feel that it cant be true since vanitas is young xehanort from what i've seen and heard.

I believed it to be MF but according to some people he has yellow eyes and not red.

If you have any ideas on this or cone across any info about it would you mind telling me.

I also hope this helped some people form their own ideas on who this thing is and/or what it is.

Kingdom Hearts 3D to reveal “Many Truths” about series plot

Kingdom Hearts series Director Tetsuya Nomura has teased that key mysteries of the deliberately convoluted plotting of the series will be revealed at the close of the latest entry, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

“This time at the end of the story, there will be the longest cutscene of the whole series where the true form of Ansem and Xemnas, as well as their goals and many other truths will be revealed all at once,” the series boss told Famitsu Magazine, translated by Siliconera.

He goes on to tease that key people to the game’s plot are Axel, the red-haired member of the shadowy Organization XIII, and a silver-haired boy.

Kingdom Hearts spin-offs have jumped around the series time line a lot, but the new 3DS entry is chronologically the furthest on in the timeline and is expected to tee story threads up for further sequels.

Nomura also spoke briefly about the genesis of the Ability Link and Dream Eater gameplay systems, new to Dream Drop Distance.

“At first, I initially wanted to develop another form of the command board from Birth by Sleep,” he explained. “Then I mixed the growth systems of Re:Coded and 358/2 Days and came up with a new idea that became the Ability Link feature.”

The game is out in Japan on March 25th, and will launch in the West later this year.

Kingdom Hearts 3D’s Tron: Legacy World Has A Light Cycle Mini-Game

The screenshot of Riku riding a light cycle is from an event scene in Kingdom Hearts 3D’s Tron: Legacy world where CLU forces Riku into an arena. After the characters talk, you get to drive the light cycle on a circular track while other light cycle racers try to crash into Riku. You can attack them with the blue beam that Riku’s light cycle emits or press Y to trigger a mode change. This makes two gunpods appear so you can shoot other riders in front of you, but this slows Riku down. The light cycle scene has a boss at the end and players will have to use both the blue beam and twin cannons to take it down. After clearing the light cycle battle, you can enter the arena again which has a score added to it.

While Sora and Riku visit the same worlds and run through the same map, they interact with different characters. Riku meets Sam Flynn, son of the Grid creator Kevin Flynn, who explains the situation with Quorra and the portal they need to open. Sora interacts with Rinzler instead and if you remember Kingdom Hearts II the two characters have a connection…

The biggest change between older Kingdom Hearts games and Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] is the free flow action system which utilizes the environment in combat. Sora can bounce off walls and spiral towards enemies or swing from lamp posts to set up a spinning attack. These moves are powerful because they have a wide range and allow you to fly through some attacks unharmed. While Traverse Town had a bunch of lamp posts to swing on, The Grid has grind rails. When you’re sliding on a neon track, you can do a free flow action where you leap in the air and come crashing down with a keyblade strike. Kingdom Hearts 3D always seems to have grind rails when you’re surrounded, so I found myself repeating the same free flow attack over and over. Unlike deck commands, free flow attacks don’t have cooldown times.

Also new for The Grid, is a Code Breaker reality shift. Activate this and you touch red words on the bottom screen to do an attack, shutdown turrets or unlock doors.

In addition to Dream Eaters, Kingdom Heart 3D’s Tron world has one other enemy. Players will fight warriors with Rinzler’s staff fighting style as regular enemies too. These fighters can trap Riku in a combo, making them one of the tougher opponents on the Grid.

Maaaaaan this game is gonna be awesome, i'm glad i bought i 3DS before it came out. July is a bit of a wait though, i honestly thought it was coming out in may. Hopefully the sections of riku and sora are evened out so have to worry about one having more playtime than the other in the game.

Either way
