So does anyone else try to complete the minimap and get 100% before they go to the next area? I must say, it's pretty cool, but it's kinda annoying as well because if you happen to miss a tiny little bit of area (as in a single pixel!), you'll get 99%. And yet you see that everything has been uncovered and you try to go look for that single tiny itsy bitsy teeny weeny area that you had missed, but they are SO hard to spot! A few times I found myself going back to all the areas, searching every corner, just to get that 100% completion. -_-

i love finishing the map the first time i go through an area, mainly because the items you get help out a lot. off topic a bit, when you meet namingway at the chocobo woods near Fabul, DON'T GIVE HIM THE TENTS i gave him 10 and he only gave me 300 gil.

Actually, I do believe you receive an item later in the game (I think an augment, I don't remember) if you give him all your tents for 300 gil. I gave it to him because the guide online told me to do so. =x

But anyway, I actually had to go back to one of the caves because I missed out on one floor. I didn't really mind going back though since I needed some gil and exp anyway.

If you don't do it you miss out on the rest of the Namingway quest line which yields some of the best Augments in the game, namely, ???'s Love (HUGE stat boosts on level ups 70+) and a No random battles augment, which is golden when backtracking for 100% map completion...

Right now I'm finishing up Bahamut's cave before I tackle the final dungeon with 100% of all maps done so far...I do believe there's a final reward for completing every map in the game, I've read it somewhere although I forget what it is at the moment...

Oh for goodness sake, I just completed the game a few days ago and I could have sworn I completed ALL the maps 100%! When I finally got to the final dungeon, I received nothing. -_- Apparently I must have missed a map in the beginning of the game. Can't be arsed to check every single place.

Yes, and that's the Treasure Hunter. I wanted to get that augment so I can complete the Namingway quest since I didn't have the Rainbow Pudding, which are rarely dropped by the flans.

I think its a fantastic feature. It gives you that motivation to go everywhere. And its a good way to nab some useful items along the way.

I loved the map because I basically kept looking at the bottom screen while walking which made it easier but I didn't get my 100% completion on the first play through all because I missed a 1% pixel section on the Tower of Babil! And yes I had that happen on my first play Mitsuki, where I missed 2-3 sections out of all the maps just because a pixel wasn't searched through completely. That is why I tried to go back to all the caves and towers to complete them but Babil was blocked if you don't do it the first time you enter.

Where do you get those two upper augments? (???'s Love and No random battle augment)

Anyway, i didn't get all in the tower of zot >.<
otherwise, it's cool getting new items and stuff^^

Do you get the level lust augment if you don't give him the tents?

I loved the mini map feature. I tried as hard as I could to explore 100% of the area - and it means you train more, since if you go all over the map, you have to fight more monsters, which means more EXP for you. Great system ;D

So far I have, only been in that first cave though. :D
But yeah I got 100% got something like 4 potions.

I'm really annoyed becuase I made sure I 100% everything before I left, and when I was in that STUPID tower of Babil the second time, I went through a door, which took me to an airship and I could never get back to that floor, so I fucked it up :stare:

Other than that, I have 100% everywhere which makes me wanna kick the cat

I am so glad that Squeenix were so lenient with the 100% on this... When i first saw that they had included a map completion % I was ready to tear out my hair with flashbacks of Star Ocean: Til The End of Time.

I was pleased to find that it was much easier to get the edges on this game :D

I have everything 100% completion in final fantasy IV ds except the Lunar subterane Zeromus's part well I keep dieing on him so I have to get the whole map all over again. Yeah the Tower of Babil was annoying.

So go down to the edge of his room, then go back to the save point. Use 'Safe Travel' to expedite the process.

I always complete the mini maps when I am exploring. It gives me exp from the Random encounters, helps me discover all the treasure chests and I get items for 100% completion. It really helps out in this game, since the difficulty has been raised from other versions.

yeah i did that for most of the caverns just to get a couple of extra items that i wouldn't actually use later on in the game lol. i definitely searched 100% in the final cavern but that was only to get to the secret weapons and stuff

I didn't get Treasure Hunter on my first playthrough. Turned out I missed a hidden area in the waterway near Damcyan.
