On hard mode minerva was really hard and took maybe a half hour but i don't think The reigning deity was the hardest mission. The hardest mission for me was to fight against 1000 infrantymen, i killed and killed and fought for over 2 and a half hours just to get hit by one attacks that gives 1 health left and then the others shoot me with their guns so no health left... I tried again, 3 hours just to die again... I tried again and 3 hours before i died again... Minerva was just to hit with costly punch, avoid and guard what you couldn't avoid, no attacks that left you with 1hp no heartless angel no super grenade that sucked your health just simple attacks that did no great trouble. I have killed Minerva and completed the mission but not the 1000 infrantrymen and i do not wanna try again.

Wich one is harder for you? Minerva or 1000 infrantrymen?

1000 is easy if you know how to dodge that 1hp attack, which took a few times for me. And Minerva was easy as well because of my Costly punch and curaga
I do't think shes hard, she just has loaaaaads of hp which is annoying :gonk:
But don't worry you'll get through the 1000 infrantrymen

I know how to dodge it... i think i killed over 900 of them then they just succeded to hit when i didn't dodge right one time of 50 times or more i've dodged that damn attack on one try... Nothing can change the damage wich is annoying...

Yeah I remember those missions.

1000 infantrymen is a bugger if you don't have a long attention span because of the amount of time and concentration it takes. I think I did mine with Death Twister and Darkness, run around and gather them all up until they all chase you ten turn around and use them, but I'm not sure, it's been ages since I played.

Still, with time and patience it's do-able. Just.

Uhhhh, definitely gonna have to say Minerva. The 1000 infantrymen are quite easy to deal with as long as you don't get hit by the grenade spam or get stopped and then hit mass amounts of times. But Minerva was definitely quite hard... for being level 100 after all.... and i think around 10 million H.P. But if you have the Costly Punch Materia and Break Damage Limit, almost everything is rather easy.

1000 infantrymen is fun, I can defeat them with my eyes closed.
Minerva, challenging, heart-pumping, I cannot defeat Minerva with my eyes closed.

1000 infrantrymen is easy, even on hard mode just have to have the proper materia equiped and pretty much dodge. Minerva (aka the goddess) takes too long to beat using normal tactics. She has 10 million hp so i just wail on her using costly punch. I can't remember how much hp she has on hard but i think its 20 mill or somewhere around there.

1000 infantry men were pretty easy. It was the whole dodge and avoid, and block that I had trouble with. I can't beat Minevra, which is why I say 1000 infantry man. It's just time-consuming

Heck, I thought 1000 Infantrymen was pretty easy, I've never been able to defeat Minerva though, Judgment Arrow practically kills me twice over (that is if I have almost max HP, if I don't then Raise gets removed as always, and the damage kills with what HP I would have left. >_<).

It's really, really good when I have Invincible status when she uses the move. XP

Minerva took a lot more preparation than the 1000 infantrymen did - I used gil toss and immortalised myself with SP Barrier and Master materia, so I had to farm Phoenix Downs from her for about five hours to get the money - but neither were particularly hard. When things got crazy in the latter mission, I just used Quake.

The mission before Minerva was much, much harder than either of those, it took me too many tries to get to the end of it...

1000 infantry men is the most easiest mission to complete in the entire game.

Just run around with death twister, ribbon, raise, and the break health item.

Wait until the soldiers mob you and activate death twister, when the wave boss turns up (ensign, etc) use normal attacks

The ribbon will null any of the staus aflictions that they will hit you with so that you can then go around slaying ShinRa troops with ease

Of course the raise is for if you miss the doges on the grenades and the break health is for when you get hit by the powerful melee attack the troops have in the final stages of the mission

Minerva took a lot more preparation than the 1000 infantryman mission, but once you got all the gear for her she became easy. The infantryman one gets boring rather quickly though, and you tend to make careless mistakes...whereas in the Minerva battle you may end up going "Wait, it's over already?"

Minerva's definitely harder. As for 1000 infantry men, they didn't remove the raise status with their attacks, did they? It was just not as hard to stay alive in any case, so it was just a matter of fighting endlessly. Whereas with Minerva you had to MAKE SURE you had the raise status since dieing was just around the corner.

In fact, I just quaked all the way through the 1000 soldiers one of the times I did it (with normal attacks/costly punch for the ensigns, :P) But that was pretty much it.

After months of not playing, I couldn't kill off Minerva, whilst I still could manage the 1000 infantry men easily, although not as deftly (since I didn't rely on quake n' costly punch this time).
