New Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance teaser hints at the return of Solidus

The “Make It Right” teaser countdown on the official Metal Gear Rising Revengeance website has ended, revealing a new live-action teaser titled “ARM”.

The teaser features a group of scientists who seem to be recovering data from the dismembered arm of Raiden. Raiden is seen dipping in and out of consciousness as a result and experiences a number of flashbacks of his childhood.

As Metal Gear fans might be familiar with, Raiden was a child soldier under Solidus during the Liberian Civil War which took place in the late 1980s. The teaser seems to hint at the return of Solidus as his voice, that of John Cygan, can be heard in the trailer if you listen attentively.

Raiden’s voice actor in the game, Quinton Flynn, tweeted last week that he was working on a unnamed project with John Cygan.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 by Platinum Games and is expected to release at the end of the year. You can watch the trailer below.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance teaser gets political

Another teaser site has opened for Platinum Games’ take on the Metal Gear universe, hinting that the action-oriented title isn’t afraid to dive into the convoluted narratives the franchise is known for.

Konami’s latest marketing effort for Metal Gear Rising: Revenegeance is called War On Our Shores.

The video is described as “a leaked audio recording of Colorado Senator Stephen Armstrong’s conversation, with one of his speech writers” which “reveals the horrific truth about what the Senator’s true plans are for America”.

The fandom has declared Armstrong’s plans hauntingly similar to those of Solidus Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is expected to release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of the year. Check out the trailer below.

The very first trailer that came out for this game made me completely sick with the direction it was going in. But after the gameplay shown at E3 the game looks better but I won't buy it till it drops price. Even though I own all the metal gear games minus acids and the game boy one this just seems a big departure that's all.
