Metal Gear FC

They were sued for the main song of MGS3...it was one of MGS2's major songs as well.

The song that claimed it was stolen from sounded nothing like it other then two tones.
But because of that small mishap they took out one of the series greatest songs.

Check it out,

Well I must admit, it does sound very similar.

It's a shame that it had to be taken out of MGS4 because that was the main theme for the previous games, whoever sued obviously wasn't a Metal Gear fan. :monster:

"Way To Fall" is a great song, I think it went perfect with the ending of MGS3. I was surprised to find out that it was a Starsailor song, I didn't think they were big in Japan.

I hadn't really heard of Starsailor until I finished MGS3 and went to download the song. The first time I heard it I was thinking that it was a weird song...but it truly grew on me, just like the "Snake Eater" song. I thought that was to "Bond" like but it grew on me when your climbing the tall ladder in MGS3...and of course the when it started playing during the last fight.

Favorite worded song of the series is "The Best is yet to come"...when they played it in MGS4 I am man enough to admit that I got emotional...walking around while that song was playing...checking out sites of my childhood, old and crumbled, while echoed flashbacks of my favorite game came and went...truly one of my favorite things in the entire series.

That ladder part is fantastic, I wanted that version with no music to be on the soundtrack but it wasn't. D:

The Boss never lasted more than a minute and a half against me, so I never got to hear the song play. There are loads of ways you can beat her, how did you do it?

I liked that song too, is it a new version in MGS4 or the same one?

I always play the MGS games on the extreme modes after around two run throughs so I with fights like The Boss for example, it normally goes to the part where Snake Eater starts playing. I think it sounds the best there, its soft and in the background. Even if the fight shouldn't last that long I wait for it to get to the song.

I normally just throw on my whitest outfit and CQC her. I find it to be a lot easier that way, you can take her down in like 30 seconds or less even on the highest difficulty and not get hit.
She is by far my favorite Boss of the series...followed by Sniper Wolf because I found her story to be emotionaly touching. In the end, I even find myself thinking that I like The Boss more as a character then Snake.

For The Best is yet to come, its the same version in MGS4, I think the only past songs they remixed were Enclosure and the MGS2 theme.

My way of defeating her is to place on the Black Camo. This way, she'll be able to see you more, in which you can CQC her to the ground in a confrontation. Shoot her into the head twice with the MK22, hide behind a tree whilst she shoots at you, then repeat.

I've seen another way in which you CQC her to the ground, and continually fire the Mosin Nagant, when she gets up.

That's exactly how I do it, the firing at her after CQC part.
Speaking of CQC, any of you try out MGO yet? I finally plugged in my net and started two days ago, I only play at night and although its my first online shooter I was shocked at how easy it is to get used to. Using CQC in it is quite fun.

For The Boss I always kill her lethally.

Reverse her CQC, shoot her with the shotgun, whilst she's down plant TNT, run away, detonate when she starts firing again. Repeat until she dies.

Has anyone else noticed how she doesn't actually bleed when you shoot her? Red petals fly out instead.

The Best is Yet to Come is one of my favourite songs from MGS series. It brings so much memories and makes me emotional ;)
Lol i never fighted The Boss myself, because i played MGS3 on my friends PS2 and he always wanted to play boss battles himself so i had to call him :)

Well, you should think about playing it for yourself, it really is a terrific game.

So... who does everyone prefer, Colonel Campbell or Major Zero? :monster:

I say Campbell, don't really have any definitive reason for that though...just like him more. But
if it wasn't for Zero, Solid Snake wouldn't have ever been born..but the world really wouldn't have been thrown into turmoil as well.

I can't choose, to be honest.

True, Major Zero could be seen as an antagonist because
he founded the Patriots but his original intentions were pure, all he wanted to do was make The Boss' vision come to life along with Big Boss, Ocelot, EVA, and all the others.
One could say that he just got greedy along the way and started to stray from his original plans.

I find it hard to take Colonel Campbell seriously sometimes, mainly because he gained the rank of Chicken Fox whilst affiliated with FOXHOUND. He seems distant at times and although he gives the player good advice, his character can be cryptic, too. And that little speach he gave about being abducted by aliens? :wacky:

Haha, yeah I was going say something about those speeches, but since they weren't really him I opted out of that. Btw, I do like how you can hear him saying that in MGS4 when you find the crop circles.
I agree 100% about Zero, he did originally have intentions. I do like his character overall, I guess I just picked Colonel cause I grew up knowing him to be the main commander

OMG! OMG!!!! A Metal Gear FC?!!!! :fan: *dies* The Metal Gear series has been one of my faves ever! (along with the FF ones, of course!) I'm definitively gonna join this FC!!! *loves Hideo Kojima for creating the MG saga!* ^_^

Sorry, I haven't checked this thread in over a week because my laptop went in for repair. D:

It's nice to have such an enthusiastic person join the club. :monster:

So... would anyone like to suggest our next topic of discussion?

December is the next topic of interest. (Logically it has to be).

For those who haven't heard, Kojima is releasing an new/extra ending to MGS4. For those that have played MGS4 you should rightly know how significant that timing is. Six months after its release date.

So what do you think the new scenes will be?

Lol, thanks for letting me in! :)

And about what Gray Fox said....well yeah, I read out somewhere that there was gonna be another ending that's supposed to be released in December.....the 12th I think, though I'm not sure. Ever wondered what exactly was meant in the credits with
Voice of God - Kojima?
Well, I guess it has something to do with it. Maybe
We'll end up seeing Snake in heaven or something?

Who knows? Well, knowing Kojima it's meant to be something awesome! I can't wait ^^

About the Kojima voice of god thing, it was already in the game. At first people thought it was the voice you hear when buying the .50. But then it was confirmed that it is the voice you hear when you press X at the
psycho mantis appearance. If you press L1 you see the Sorrow. But if you press X you see Kojima.
