OMG!

Ok, I leave Midgar and find a custom sweeper it uses Matra Magic and I learn it on Enemy Skill number 1, but I think this does quite a bit of damage, I like it, I'll train around here and learn limits and I fight Custom Sweeper by the bucket loads

So I find Enemy Skill number 2 in Junon and when I get the buggy, I think I need to back track, not only do I need the Mythril I wanna collect enemy skills that have already been obtained or were unobtainable before the buggy, White Wind for example because of a lack of Manipulate materia.

So I return to Midgar thinking there are plenty of Custom Sweepers in the area to learn Matra Magic and when I get there, I find a lack of this monster, I spend the better part of an hour running around fighting anything BUT Custom Sweepers. And when I finally find one and learn Matra Magic I decide to go fight a Midgar Zolom for Beta, which I learn and kill then it makes me fight another because it attacked me from the "Safe Ground" near the Mythril Mines!

I return to Junon and have to run all the back to the Boat rather than a taxi that can take me there, luckily on the way out originally I had the taxi drop me off outside town on the world map, but that made me miss something completely!

On my return trip, I find so Shinra guys in like the T shaped room that leads to the Underwater Reactor that was previously spoken of, in this room I find a glowing switch, it glows I MUST press it, this sets of an alarm and within seconds I fight an emeny called Death Machine, it looks somewhat Custom Sweeper like and my temper begins to flare... It only gets worse when it's first attack that it uses is MATRA MAGIC!

An hour I spent hunting for that and this just uses it within 10 seconds? My patience is now at breaking and I run back to the boat in a huff without fighting ANOTHER monster and then make my way to the Hut where you trade the Mythril that I obtained and what I do find when I enter the hut? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! No-one is there and I get thrown out!!!

You can learn matra magic in corel prison too. Quite a few monsters share the same enemy skills. Also about the guy you give Mythril to is going to be home a little later in the game if that's what you were talking about. I'm just glad you were smart and didn't die after hours of finding enemy skills.

I know he'll be home soon, I just wanted Great Gospel NOW not later!

It was touch and go for a bit, when that second Midgar Zolom sneak attacked me... I was dumb and decided to run towards the mine instead of running back to the Chocobo Farm, had I ran back, I could have timed my run to clear the marsh without initiating the second attack. I thought I had time to clear the marsh before the Zolom reappeared, but yeah it ended up sneak attacking me and I barely got through the second fight

This skill has become obsolete for you. When you have the Tiny Bronco you can go on a World Tour of Enemy Skill, so I'd save it for later.

Matra magic is basically a mild non-elemental attack that parades all opponents. Good for certain battles, but becomes less useful as you progress.

Aqualung and Trine were nice in FF7 (water & lightning)

Mighty Guard is VERY nice (FF9) (Shell and Protect on entire party)

Its called big guard in FF7 and it adds Haste, protect, and shell to the whole team. Don't expect the protect and shell to last long though. Haste will make it run out quicker.

Also you may want to know that there are only four enemy skill materias in the game. 1 in the shinra head quarters. 1 in Junon at the beginners hall. 1 in the forgotten city where you need to sleep. and the last one in the chocobo sage house.

I'm also going to note that there it two enemy skills that are totally one shot gets. Those two are Trine and Pandora's Box. The trick to learning Trine is to wait and do the Yuffie side quest on disk 2 once you have all four. Equip the enemy skill materias that don't have Trine on it during the final battle with her father.

The second one is only used by a zombie dragon in the northern crator. You have to take the first right when the party asks which way they should go. The Zombie dragon will cast it as a final attack the first time you defeat it. So in order to learn it on all four, equip all four enemy skill materias on a person and learn it that way. You should learn Pandora's Box on all four.

Trine can be obtained from the Stilva (I believe that's the name) enemy in the northern crater - the first time you trek through the caves to get to Sephiroth. It's red with pointy appendages. You can learn Magic Breath, Trine and Aqua Breath (the latter may be wrong though) freely from this enemy, and they're not hard to come by either.

Though according to your fortunes in getting Matra Magic, I'd say luck was against you. =P

I never have an issue with Trine, I normally wait til Disc 2 before doing the tower in Wutai but failing that, I just return to the Gaea Cliffs to fight the Stilva (yes that is it's name, I think? haha) and get Trine and Magic Breath from that

But yeah, luck was against me with Matra Magic, I could not believe how long I spend trying to learn it, and then I see a button, and when pressed it summons a monster that used Matra Magic right away!! Not a happy bunny to say the least
