As the title says, how would you rate the main party? I'm not talking about a simple kind of thing. I mean a detailed analysis of how you TRULY feel about them. Here is my detailed analysis of all seven party members.
Auron:
A guy who could be just as serious as he could be badass. His whole persona spoke of badass, and even made me turn to him as an early favorite. He had all the right stuff: awesome theme music, great, diverse personality, and truly the badass of the entire game. His theme music really fit him perfectly. The only thing that irked me about him was sometimes the whole mystery he had got just a bit too much. That is only a minor gripe, to be honest. He played the role of Yuna's guardian quite well, if I may add.
Auron's character development was another thing that impressed me. while he had the littlest amount of Character Development of any of the main party members(in my opinion), he did show enough to make it noticable. From the get go, Auron was definitely the mysterious type, but then he shined when he offered himself to go with sin(as it was with tidus eventually). That showed that he knew his time was up, and that he was no longer needed. Also, his design is pretty badass~

Lulu
Lulu was one of those character that had a love-hate relationship with the fans. I've noticed on various fan sites that this was indeed the case. For me personally, it was more of a hate-love, than a love-hate relationship. The reason being simply because I did not like the way she acted. At first she was a very snotty, and bitchy character. Of course, she was like this because of Tidus, and how protective she was of Yuna. I don't know, I just didn't like her at first, but I think she had her shining moment when the gang went to Guadosalam.
When the gang did indeed go to Guadosalam, a scene I remember clearly was when Lulu went to see Tidus and she told him that she knew about Tidus' "feelings" for yuna. She could've went all bitchy and all that stuff, but she didn't. Instead, she showed signs of immense character development. That is what changed my mind about her in a sense that I actually began to like Lulu's whole persona. She was still a bitch, but in a good way.
On the subject of Lulu's likability, it was up in the air for me. She was like a roller coaster for me: up and down. Every time she'd do something bitchy, she does something not so bitchy. And vise versa, she would do something good, and then turn right back around and do something bitchy. As far as how her character design and everything fits, I think it fit her whole dark, bitchy, and caring persona. She was a dark mage, but with a sexual complex. so, obviously she has that same kind of appearance. I think, all-in-all, her theme fits nicely with it all.

Wakka
One thing that can be said about Wakka is that he was definitely funny at times. His constant need to say "ya" after every statement? Well, not so much. Don't get me wrong, it as funny after the few twenty times, but then it just got too old too fast. I get it he had the whole "island guy,so I speak like this,ya?" kind of persona, but seriously? It could've been done in a totally different way where it was good, but not overplayed. I don't know about you, but that's the main thing that irked me about Wakka.
Going on another thing that bothered me about Wakka, it would be his fucking weapon. I know Final Fantasy is known for its outrageous weapons, but Wakka having a ball? A BALL!? That's just waaaaay over the top for me. It was good in long range attacks, but just didn't roll with me for some reason.
I will have to say is that Wakka's character development was beyond what I would have expected when I gave this game another play-through. At first he was all like "oh, sin's here so that we can atone for our..sins", and near the end he's liek "Aah, fuck it! let's take this bitch down". I think that whole mindset made him decent in my book. He still sucks, but not as bad.

Kimahri Ronso
What can there be said about Kimahri ronso? He's a big fella, but didn't talk for most of the first half of the game. He was the big man that never talked, but only spoke few words. He was the guy you were afraid to go near because he'd kill you in a millisecond. Yeah, that was Kimahri for the majority of the first half. I have to admit, that I didn't quite like him from the get go, he was emotionless, but as the game progressed we saw a different side to him. I'm not going to say he's my favorite character, but not the one i hate the most, that's for sure.
Taking all of it aside, Kimahri had more personality than most of the main villains, I have to give him that much. He had the best overdrive of all the party members, in my honest opinion. He had the ability to steal monster's moves and was able to use them as his own. In my eyes, that's pretty fucking cool.
Going for a spin to the design and development department, I have to say Kimahri did pretty solid. His design, in my opinion, is pretty sweet. A great adaption of what a mountain beast-man would look like. As far as his character development goes, it was pretty solid. He made a decent amount of development. Opening up to tidus by talking to him, now that was one of his shining moment. I think anyone would agree with that, wouldn't ya say?

Rikku
Rikku was obviously the quirky one of the bunch. Whether is was her being afraid of the Thunder and Lighting in Thunder Plains or the way she always spazzed out to Auron and Wakka. Yes, it didn't matter when Rikku spazzed out, she always had a certain flare about her that made her likable for me. Not forgetting to mention that she was a freaking cutie-pie. Oh my god, she was hot.
Among any of the main party, Rikku had the best personality. She could be funny and weird while also being caring, and a true friend. With her being voiced by one of my favorite Voice Actresses, Tara Strong, she was even more awesome. Her need to protect Yuna from the "Final summoning" was not only admirable, but truly tear-jerking. I don't say that too lightly, either. Also, her hidden love for Tidus led more to speculate about her.
On the topic of Rikku's weapon and overdrive, I was a bit mixed about that. It's true that I did enjoy using her in battles, but she wasn't really the best for attacks, but her Overdrive more than made up for that. Combining shit was freaking awesome. End of story. On a quick note of her development and design, I am also mixed about that. Her design is good, but I do think it just could've been slightly better. Character development wasn't really her strong suit, if you catch my drift. Of course the relationships she gained contributed, but I jsut think she had the fewest amount of development out of the seven party members.

Yuna
From the very start, I've always liked Yuna. She was your typical shy girl, but had a courageous girl's mind-set. Anyone who payed close attention to Yuna knew that when she began her Summoner journey, she wasn't at all ready. She was nervous beyond anyone's comprehension, and just had that unsure face. However, while she was in that state-of-mind, she always put on a brave face, and just looked ahead. She had six guardians, so even if she wavered for one minute, they'd all be behind her faster than you can say guardian(don't try, it was a rhetorical statement).
Yuna was one of my most-used characters in battle mainly because she had the White mage abilities that came in handy in more than your average amount of situations. Since she was the summoner of the party, I used them more than I did most of the overdrives, especially if I was on the verge of death or whatever. Her overdrive only came in handy during bossfights or strong enemies, to be quite honest. I think that's one of the reasons why I used Yuna a lot more than I did the others.
I will turn my attention to Yuna's development and design. Something that she had a decent amount in both..actually. That's quite the understatement. It would be quite accurate to say that Yuna had the most character development out of any character. She was a shy, timid girl at the beginning, but then she fell in love with Tidus and was able to face her fears, and take charge of them. If that doesn't say anything, then I don't know what does. As far as her design goes, it was pretty good. It was good enough for how Yuna was. I think that's all I can say for that.

Tidus
So, Tidus the male lead character. Yup, he's your typical over-energetic, always optimistic, teen boy who has a thing for the summoner. I hate to say it, but I think that's what sums up Tidus. He isn't anything special aside from having "his story" being told from his point of view. I think that's what really make him stand out, but really. There isn't much that makes him stand out that much. It's frightening to say, but that's how I really feel about dear Tidus. He's not as dull as some of the other male leads in the later FF's, but yeah there it is.
Tidus has a good, fast-paced overdrive. I quite enjoyed it, actually. It kept you hooked to the turn-based gameplay of Final Fantasy 10, and let's be honest, he probably had the most fun Overdrive out of all of them...at least, in my eyes he did.
Tidus' design was a thing that was a half-half for me. I liked the way he looked, it fit his personality very well, but the shorts are what really irked me. One leg short and the other not. Kind of weird if you ask me. His jacket piece I really liked. I imagined Tidus to wear something like that given that he IS over-energetic, and always optimistic.
As far as his character development goes, it was pretty solid. I'm not going to lie and say it was the best, because it wasn't. But that's not going to take away from how much he grew from the start to the end. He became a man, and not some scared little boy. He still had daddy issues, but that's beside the point. what matters is that he showed venerability, and he showed that he's capable to be a leader AND a follower. Plus, when he went into sin's destroyed...body(?), that was his defining moment. Oh, and when he and Yuna kissed in Macalania Lake. Yup, that teared me up quite a bit.
