The Final Question!

Mages or Fighters?

Do you prefer casting magic from afar over vast amounts of enemies but becoming helpless when your MP runs out or do you like being in the action taking one 1 enemy at a time?

i would have to pick fighters because u dont have to worry about MP. Usually my fighters are more powerful then magic users anyway

Magic users definatly. You always need a solid white mage and a black mage combo aotherwise your sunk.

Black mages can damage some enemies by exploiting thier elemental weaknesses whereas Fighters would fail. Osmose is a fantastic spell for preserving MP. Black mages are often essential at the start of the game.

White mages - you can be guarrented that the spell cure will be used far more times than any of your other commands. your white mage keeps the party alive and is one of your best allys to have in battle.

Therefore Mages>Fighters.

Mages definently. It nices to be able to instantly kill all enemies when about eight attack you instead of just hitting one at a time. Mages also do a TON more damage than fighters. And if you are stocked up on ethers or if you have the spell osmose then you don't really have to worry about MP.

I'm more of a fighter than a magic caster in FF games. I like White Mages to be there to suport me when I'm being knocked around, but I love to do the knocking around with my Warriors to the opposing enemies.

I'd have to go with fighter. Normally, when I play FF or any other RPG games, I'd use my normal attacks all the time for all characters but still able to cure them if need be. Usually I'll have my characters cure themselves if they need to be cured, and then continue attacking. This way, I won't have to stress over my great loss of MP.

For me, the quicker you defeat the enemies, the better. So having all my characters attack is my way of doing it. :)

Amen to that. I'm definitely a fan of fighters. The only real change up I do is if I get a character like Amarant or Wakka that is able to do special attacks. But other than that it's pretty much straight hack n' slash til I pound the HP out of my enemies.

While I love physical strength, I prefer mages. I just love it when you're playing a game and have the power of magic to use. I especially love casting fire spells, though I'm a pyro <_< lol! So yeah, mages for me (Though I do love Cloud's physical strength)^_^

I prefer fighters cause they are much faster and are stronger
magic costs mp and takes a while for the animation :(

I prefer fighters.
but sometimes mages can be more usefull against some foes.
like FFX . there are some monsters , who can be hitten just by magic and fighters are useless there .

I prefer Fighters since I think they just have cooler moves (well, some do). I've never found the fascination with a mage holding a staff and muttering some words...it just doesn't appeal to me. In particular I love characters like Freya (FFIX) with her jump moves, and some of her helpful magic.

I suppose she is a kind of Hybrid Mage-Fighter.

Mages aren't as weak as you say, mages can distroy several
groups of enemies before running out of MP. But I have to choose fighters because that's the catagory that my lancer falls under.

Hmmm I always use mages just to keep it interesting and challenging.
When you use fighers, they usually get the job done before the battle even begins. =x

physical attacks all the way for me.. i dont really get dependant on magic, only when i need to heal myself

For the most part, I've used more physical attacks than magical. FFX, for example, I found huge use in Auron and Wakka for their stat changing abilities. Although sort of magically infused, they're still physical attacks. Tactically, I'll go for stat changes.

However magic users have some stats-changing techniques too. Bio/Poison, for example. Magic users are far more destructive than those who attack a singular foe per turn, so in that sense I find more value in Mages. My personal preference is Magic, for the same reason as Aeris Gainsborough; damaging and healing magic. Which is why...

Blue Magic rocks.

Twas a hard question, but i went with fighters, although mages are essential in some cases. The main drawback to mages is MP. If you run out, have no ethers and are far from a healing spot then you're pretty much screwed.

I prefer melee fights .
specoally with sword.

but sometimes mages can be more usefull against some foes.
like FFX . there are some monsters , who can be hitten just by magic and fighters are useless there .
