Little Vivi's?

**ENDING SPOILERS**

In the ending to FF9 you can see a few (about 5) little versions of Vivi cheering next to Eiko when Garnet hugs Zidane. Now they look smaller than Vivi, however they may be the same size. My question is this: What/Who are they? Are they Vivi's sons? His brothers? His clones? Or possibly other little mages who just wanted to dress like him! Vivi is a little young to be having sons (10 years old!) so that theory is pretty much poo-pooed from the start. Any thoughts anyone?
 
i would say that there is a slight possibility that they are other 'prototypes' of black mages
 
i think but im not sure cuz i cant quite remember, they are vivis sons. im sure i recall them tellin eiko that they are the sons of vivi, by this time vivi has stopped functioning.
 
Maybe Vivi is Asexual and managed to create copies of himself? since they are exactly alike to him and Asexual reproduction is when you create a clone of yourself.
 
it never says who the mum is, i dont even know if vivi can have a kid the usual way;)

i think they showed him having kids to make the ending a bit happier, cuz its quite sad finding out that vivi stopped functioning
 
i cant remem ber the words exactly. But do u remember the speech that is said during the ending sequences someone is talking saying what he learnt from each character zidane eiko etc saying that he cared for them right up until the 'end' that is vivi
 
That's true but they never actually say it. Most people gathered it though. It's possible that they are just young black mages that are issued the same uniforms. Remember the larger black mages had the same uniform given to them by Kuja? Or possible they could have been other prototype mages like FFGuy said.

they are vivi's sons or grandsons and if you think about it he ages abit like a dog one year to us 7 to them and he wasnt 10 years old he was only about 2 but to black mages thats probs very old. he is my fave character so i know alot about him =)
 
I haven't the foggiest. They did the same thing at the end of Final Fantasy VII with Nanaki, and the rest of those dog things. They are never too keen on elaborating how something clearly mammalian can reproduce without a female partner. unless of course, they're was an undiscovered female dog-thing like Nanaki. Maybe one of those black mages in that black mage village was, in fact, female. You couldn't really tell on account of,,,,'y'know, the whole concealed faces thing.
 
Um, well in the case of Nanaki (of FF7) he had 500 years to reproduce so...it's kind of a different thing as the ending of FF9 could not have happened more than 2 years or so after beating the final boss because none of the characters have aged. I believe the ending takes place roughly one year after the events of FF9 because Tantalus are performing "I Want To Be Your Canary" at the palace again.
 
id say less than a year. It wouldnt have taken zidane that long to escape memoria. Also i dont remember it saying in the game that vivi ages like a dog.
 
At the end when Vivi refers to himself becoming part of the sky.I always thought since he was the protoype Mage and stronger than the rest of the normal Mages. He dissolved instead of stopping like normal Black Mages into black mist which made his 'clones'. But then mabye when the mist covered the entire surface of Gaia the Mages physiology changed as well, they do seem more coherent when you visit them again after that happened.

I was just going to say about Vivi and Quina getting married but I meant it as a joke. No really they are Vivis kids, like themselves say so but Vivi hasnt made them in the usual way. Maybe somehow when Vivi dies so Mist recreated new Black Mages out of him.
And it has been a year since defeating Necron, I think Zidane needed time to recover from his wounds.
