Uh... riiiight. Close the legs and use the old noggin for a second. lol Love is really impossible to describe. It's definitely not about sex. It's not about any one thing. It's not about a feeling. I think that's the biggest misconception. People think that because something feels good that it is love. The only wisdom in the "love is like a drug" theory is that it's not... at all. Lust is like a drug. If you feel wonderful all the time, you're not in love. Period. Love does feel great but it's all about support and caring for the other person. Just because you want to see them do well doesn't mean you love them. Just because you're willing to do anythign with them or for them, doesn't make it love. You have to want to be with them, not every second of every day, but over a very long period of time and view things as "yours", shared mutually. You begin to see it less as your life and more as "your life" together.

People are naturally inclined to do things for themselves. There are a lot of people who are not shallow, greedy, or any of that... but still work very hard to help themselves. All people should. It's not a bad thing. When you're in love, you don't just want to do things for them or with them because you want to help them. You want to do it for them... because by helping them, you're helping yourself. You're both two halves of one whole. There is no seperation. No division. You work hard and care for each other, just as you would for yourself... because you're both intwined into the same entity.
 
The love drug theory is only hypothetical...
It's been proven that the drugs I mentioned in the love thread really are related to feelings of love...

Humans only use an estimated 10% or less of their brains....
So it's hard to create a scientific hypothesis on this kind of thing. ;)
 
Don't let it get you down, cheer up! These things happen, even if they seemed like the perfect couple if it didn't work then better luck next time.

Anyway, very nicely said...although you kinda contradicted yourself by saying "Love is really impossible to describe" and then went on and on about what love is. :P

Yes, normally when you want someone to succeed or willing to do anything for them, that doesn't necessarily mean it's love. However, if it's that one person who really turns your world upside down, then it's definitely love. ;) It really depends on the person.

Love is not just a feeling, I agree...it's also associated with action (and I don't mean just sex either). When you love, you show the person how much you love them.

BTW, Kain...things always go unexpected, you know. I'm sorry about your friend. It CAN happen to anyone. You think everything's perfect and all of a sudden things go KABOOM. That's just the way it is, I'm afraid...

Yea, Busta is a much nicer guy than me. I don't always say or think in a sensitive manner. I fact, I rarely do. It's not by choice... I'm just not that way, I guess. I joke a lot and I'm sure it is hard to take me seriously. But that doesn't mean I'm not passionate. It doesn't mean that I don't have feelings or want love or want to give love. People just don't see it as much as I wish they did sometimes. I don't blame you. Just don't think that because I don't come off as deep all the time, that I'm shallow or devoid of heart.

And even though I did make a large post, I really don't think I scratched the surface on the issue. I'm not sure anyone can completely wrap their mind around love and that's part of what makes it so amazing.

I totally agree. It's nice to try though...because we want to convince ourselves that what we truly feel is love, and it really is in most cases. Sometimes though, love doesn't necessarily end up being beautiful...like what Kain's friend had experienced.
