Hey everyone.

Having a slight problem with FFIV for DS.
I've had it since U.S Release but only started playing it today and I have gotten to the bit where you meet Rydia when her village is destroyed.

Anyway I'm outside the nearby town that ya supposed to go to and trying to gain afew levels ready to carry on with the game.

Thing is the monsters outside are way over powering they either turn you to stone and ya lose or they beat the crap outta ya with minimal effort.

Since you only get Cecil & Rydia was wonderin what I can do around this part?

Well, I was at around 15 with Cecil (Mist Dragon killed me at 9...) and so when Rydia joined, I just shoved her in the back row, let her kill stuff with Blizzard, and Cecil was my melee dude. Make sure you're fighting enemies that come in 2s or 1. And if you encounter a giant sand-worm-looking-thing, Hold down R and run for it. Those things killed me so bad.

BTW, Never run from battles unless you know you can't win.

Hmm, I suggest carrying some Soft with you and as suggested, attack with Blizzard. Just take your time and save often (every battle if need be) until you can defeat them easily enough as you gain experience. Make sure that both characters are also properly equipped.

It's supposed to be hard, really, especially when you reach the Water Cavern. Even with Tellah in the party, I had a very hard time with the battles, but was very careful with my every actions.

Hiya

thanks for the help!
I'm now doing alot better got cecil to 13 and Rydia to 10 and still going well.

Been using the inns to rest sadly I don't make any money cause 3 battles = 1 inn trip and after 3 battles they need the rest but all is well.

Rydia was like, the best character in my team. Even Tellah couldn't top her MP. But then some crazy plot twists happen.

Is it where the village gets destroyed by bombs? Or is it a different one? From what i remember i danced through that game, though I don't think I had the DS version, is it different?
