well i started playin FFXII last week and i wonder what the level break down was because its difficult to play so i need to know how much to level between areas
To be honest I don't think there is a single time you need to lvl up to be able to get passed a certain area. If you follow the story line you should fight enough enemies to lvl up to take on whatever the next area might be.
If you want to be safe though, I will say one thing.. Invest in Tippet Amulets later on, Experience points are alot more valuable than LP's. Since you are just starting out, I would advise going through areas that generally you can take, but have a high risk of dying in. They will yield high amounts of EXP fast. Generally stay away from status ailmenting monsters as well as flying monsters, they slow up your EXP curve. Just make sure you get chains, because even experience levels are not enough from time to time. You might have to clear an area three or four times just to accumulate enough gil to buy new weapons/armor/magic/techniques.
Pay attention to stealing - certain monsters yield valuable weapons that you won't be able to buy until later down the line. Most people on these forums will advise you what to steal and who to steal from.. so listen up. Good luck
P.S. - The answer to your question: Generally you can beat the game at lvl 35+, but in order to take marks the level varies drastically. It goes from lvl 5-8 monsters to lvl 15-20 - then 25-35 , it just depends.. but like I said, the main story line you pretty much just breeze right through.
