Welcome one and all to the opening of a brand new let's play: Yoshi's Woolly World! This is going to be completely blind, so no research has gone into the game (I dislike spoilers so much), but what I can say is this:

- It's made entirely by Nintendo and Good-Feel (not me in the slightest!).
- It's for Wii-U.
- It's a 2D Platformer with 3D elements throughout.

Other than that, I'm going in with my eyes completely shut (metaphorically lmao)!

I'll see you tomorrow when we kick off the game that I've been looking forward to so much, but couldn't start when it came out due to being down with the sickness. See you around! :D
 
Part 1 - Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!

Hey there folks, it's about time we really gave this series a kick in the gonads and got started, right? ;)

This episode checks out the whole opening, introducing us to the big threat of the game. We also check out the few huts around the hub world, including the amiibo hut that we can't really do anything in yet...but I'm sure we'll be able to later :D.

Finally we check out the first stage! This is nice and basic and introduces all the concepts and stuff, including loads of unlockables and secrets. There's something about this soundtrack so far that's so relaxing and calming that I just can't stop listening to it on youtube (though I'm only letting myself listen to the songs we've heard in the game so far). There's also something about those sunflowers/stalk things that grow in the stage. I love the yarny creativity :s.

Thanks for watching! We'll move on over to the 2nd stage next time and see what's waiting for us on that springy tree. It could actually be tough knowing my immense talent ;).

Part 2 - Bounceabout Woods

Hey peoples, time to check out world 1-2! I love these woods, for one major reason: Umbrella Yoshi. It's something that came from Yoshi's Story, but this time they got the physics right and made it all easier to control. Something tells me there'll be more transformations as we go on...at least I hope so!

Hey peoples, this time around we get out of the sunshine and head underground to check out what our mate the roller ball has in store for us!

I love the music and everything, but I'm not a huge fan of having to break all the sponge to get around. Still, when this is my least favourite stage to date, you know the game has something great going on :lew:.

Part 4 - Big Montgomery's Fort

Wooo, I love that there are castles in the game and that they look like this! Such an interesting take on the Mario castles, with a few tricky little bits to send you to your dastardly death :gasp:.

There's also the boss: Montgomery! He actually took a bit of figuring out surprisingly, and I actually loved how you beat him. It seems a little perverted...

Part 5 - Knitty-Knotty Windmill Hill

Hey all, this stage has such a relaxing track that I can't stop listening to it :s. That weird whistle bit (kind of) is just the icing on the cake! As for the stage itself, you get to create your own windmill blades! I loved this stage, even if it's probably the toughest to date ;).

Part 6 - Shy But Deadly

Hey again, it's time for us to try and make it past the new and improved shy guys! They have a love for bombs and it's up to Yoshi to eat said...bombs *cough*.

There's also another transformation this time: Mega Yoshi! You can make him all giant and stuff, which is so fun!

Hey all, it's time to head to the beach! I love the change of background for this stage, and I also love the watermelon ability! The music is nice, the backdrop is relaxing; the perfect stage for exactly this point in time :).

It's so great that even in the first world, there has been a large variety of stages, so it wasn't all grass right through. There have also been a few transformations, including Moto Yoshi from this stage; so fast lmao.

I love this boss, with how gormless he looks lmao. The way you beat him is pretty perverted again too. He's ever so lickable. As for the level itself: it's actually a bit tricky, with the yarn balls flying over lava and the lava killing you in one hit 0_0.

Part 9 - Across The Fluttering Dunes

Hey peoples, let's start world 2 shall we? I love how this level is like basic desert stuff but with the blowing sand looking like scarves ha. There's not a whole lot else I really see to comment on, other than the difficulty going up a little bit. Oh! there's also the minigame at the end...I think we do alright?

We also check out the huts now that we've beaten the first world and while a lot has been added to the BGM and bestiary hut, not a lot is going on elsewhere by the looks of it. Maybe we need to collect more?

Hey folks, this time around we take on the 2nd stage of world 2 and get to experience Mole Yoshi! Very much like the mole mitts from Minish Cap, they allow you to dig through all the earth and stuff. This time though, we're timed :eek:.

Hey all, it's time for us to give our pet chain chomp a walk! He may be murderous...he may be yoshi-eating...but by god, we have a job to do! This is a stage with a wee bit of puzzle solving involved, which makes it pretty unique to any other stage so far!

Hey there folks, let's take on the fortress of world 2, shall we? I love the boss and how it goes all 3D for certain parts...reminds me of that really old bowling Mario game. The one that only had red and black for colours lmao :lew:.

As for the stage itself, it's pretty tough 'cause of the millions of koopas; pretty much invincible, they are!

Hey all, this time around we earn ourselves a new pet (Poochy) and get to see that he's invincible to spikes! Good job too, 'cause you're dead in one hit if you touch them lmao :s.

We also meet an old friend: Lakitu! He's just as evil as ever, but there's a pretty simple way to get rid of him for a bit now :D.

Welcome to the pyramid in the middle of the desert 0_0. You'll see jump-restricted platforms on your left and spiked floors on your right. If you like limited checkpoints and genuinely tricky stages, then this is the first stage that will truly please you to date ;).

Yeah, let's start world 3! I'm loving the sweets and ice cream vibe that it has going, and this stage is enough to give diabetes, I swear.

There don't seem to be any gimmicks in this stage, which is nice, but I'm sure there'll be more innovation as we go on. It even looks like the next stage will be something to do with rockets and...baby mobiles?

Anyway! While this is the trickiest platforming we've come across so far, my favourite soundtrack from the game so far is back! Not to mention the ability to bounce around on those weird ball/duck/things lmao!

Part 20 - Big Montgomery's Bubble Fort

Hey all, the fortress of world 3 has arrived! This time around we get a very sweet and bubble inspired fort, which is so rare and original for the Mario series! I love this place and I think it may be my favourite fortress so far :D.

As for the boss...yes, Montgomery is back. He has a new attack pattern and stuff now though and the aesthetics are different, so it's all good imo.
