What's your least favourite movie genre? Do you have one certain kind of genre you just know you don't like 90% of the time? Will you not go and see a movie because you know it's a romance or a drama or whatever?

For me it's action movies, I can admit some are ok when they're mixed with some comedy or a bit of drama or something but those pure action ones like Fast and the Furious and shit... they just get at me. They're so pointess in my eyes, I roll my eyes and sigh heavily at the ridiculous car chase scenes, how every single one of them have a huge explosion with a car leaping from a ramp... I try my best to avoid these movies at all costs but sometimes I've got to see them if a friend wants to or theres nothing else on tv... I dunno... these kind of movies are just horrible to me.

Now you

Mine has to be romance/drama, funnily enough. Sloppy stuff that's so unbelievably fake. So many of the lines in those movies would never work in the real world and are just...cheesy as hell. I will watch one if it's really heavy on the comedy side...I can at least have a laugh then.

My reason for hating drama :hmmm:. I'm thinking of drama films being like old posh houses and snobby waiters etc. I just don't like all the over-acting and old-fashioned language etc. No more reason than that really :)

Have to go with Green on this. Romance and Drama is real enough that you can't suspend your disbelief like with fantasy but fake enough you cant watch it without snorting in derision or talking about it derisively. It doesn't helpo that most of them are low budget films that really aren't worth it int he first place. Just look at Lifetime.

Chick flicks that are usually aimed at teenaged girls or young adult females. Because they usually have a " OMG LETS GO SHOPPING, BECAUSE ALL GIRLS JUST LOVE TO SHOP FOR CLOTHES " attitude printed on them.

Like that movie I've forgotten the name where the main lead has a addiction to buy expensive clothes and she goes bankrupted and the most of the movie is her trying to save for important things unlike clothes but because of her clothes shopping addiction she somehow ends up scoring a decent job in the Fashion business.

Romance, drama, love stories okay but " teee- hee boys are so cute and lets go shopping " type female centred movies just make me wanna puke.

I have to agree that those girly 'chick-flicks' about romance and shopping are awful, from a the point of view of a cockerel.

There is nothing at all that I can gain from seeing these movies.

I hate romance movies in general if that is the whole plot. It is ok if it is supporting a plot, or if there are other interesting things happening at the same time, or if the love story is told in a brilliant way. This is rare for me though. It has to have something else to it.

All of these romance films or romantic-comedy films do not appeal to me at all. When I see the trailers for them I have absolutely nothing in common with them. Plus these movies (from the impression that I get) also appear to endorse that whole pick-choosey 'Eww! That guy aint right for me! He's not perfect! So I'm going to be really cruel to him! Or at least talk about him behind his back and have a good giggle, then look for another!' attitude. I've seen similar attitudes in real life. Perhaps that is life in general, but I don't want to be reminded of that sort of thing. Not keen on the whole date-and-move-on thing. I'd rather us all pair and queue up one-by-one in a sort of Noah's Ark way, and remain as such.

Or... Just watch an action movie where the main guy, despite being an asshole, always gets the girl as a prize. :argor: At least that is funnier to mock in its cliche, from a cockerel's perspective.

I don't like most action movies. I seriously find myself bored when it is nothing but pure action. (no plot or character development) There are exceptions (I enjoyed the Terminator movies and Hunger Games) but for the most part they are meh.

Modern slasher movies. Nothing but gore. And the gore is so over the top and not even the least bit realistic.

Romance. With a few exceptions, they are mostly the same.

Car movies. Seriously, just why?
