Languages?

I'm Greek/American. My dad is American born and raised there, my mom is half Greek from her mom and American from her dad, and my grandma is pure Greek. I was born in Sardegna Italy in this one city called Ozieri. People get so confused by us! Italian, Greek, American... what are we? We always speak 3 languages to eachother. I can speak Italian and English fluently of course, I don't really speak Greek fluently yet, I kinda get embarassed... but I pretty much understand a HELLA lot of it. I learned how to read Greek in a few weeks... but I eventually forgot, AGAIN. I also understand alot of Spanish since it's so similar to Italian and I lived in Spain for 3 years. Another langauge I'd like to know is Japanese.

And, I may learn Mandarin Chinese next year, since it's a new class that they're offering and I'd never pass up the chance to learn something OTHER than Spanish, French, or Italian. Asian language course being offered? Yes please.

I would so like to learn Japanese to supplement my future goals.
Either that or Chinese so that I can finally watch and understand those shows that they show on YouTube.
Plus all the k-pop, j-pop music too. :D

I speak English, but I've been known to speak British at times...

I'm Filo so I know a little Visayan, a little bit of Tagalog, and some German. I wanna learn Spanish because its a hit with the ladies... andmaybe mongolian, because no-one ever mentions mongolia lol

Chinese would be the hardest language to learn ever!

I know, which is why I'd like to learn it! :)
And Spanish, that's like the easiest language to learn, I've heard a lot of people struggle more with English than with Spanish, because frankly Spanish is a lot more direct than English is. =\

i speak 1 maybe 2 haha:D
i did four years of french and all i can remember is bonjour, au revoir and voiture whatever that is.

But in a way i could say i speak 2 cuz part of my speech is doric, its a dialect spoken in the north of scotland.
heres a translate of a poem from wikipedia which is almost 100% accurate

Doric - GIN I was God, sittin' up there abeen, Weariet nae doot noo a' my darg was deen, Deaved wi' the harps an' hymns oonendin' ringin', Tired o' the flockin' angels hairse wi' singin', To some clood-edge I'd daunder furth an', feth, Look ower an' watch hoo things were gyaun aneth. Syne, gin I saw hoo men I'd made mysel' Had startit in to pooshan, sheet an' fell, To reive an' rape, an' fairly mak' a hell O' my braw birlin' Earth,--a hale week's wark-- I'd cast my coat again, rowe up my sark, An' or they'd time to lench a second ark, Tak' back my word an' sen' anither spate, Droon oot the hale hypothec, dicht the sklate, Own my mistak', an, aince I cleared the brod, Start a'thing ower again, gin I was God.

Translation - IF I were God, sitting up there above, Wearied no doubt, now all my work was done, Deafened by the harps and hymns unending ringing, Tired of the flocking angels hoarse with singing, To some cloud edge I'd saunter forth and, faith, Look over and watch how things were going beneath. Then if I saw how men, I'd made myself Had started out to poison, shoot and fell, To steal and rape and fairly make a hell Of my fine spinning Earth -- a whole week's work -- I'd drop my coat again, roll up my shirt, And, ere they'd time to launch a second ark, Take back my word and send another flood, Drown out the whole shebang, wipe the slate, Admit my mistake, and once I'd cleared the board, Start everything over again, if I were God.

i can understand that and speak like that no problem but i dont speak like that every day although i do use a lot of the words^_^ nae doot being my favourite

I think learning a dialect is actually a good thing to learn, and I'm sure it should be counted as a distinct language, myself. :|

lol cuz im so used to speaking like that whenever im abroad or out of scotland i have to speak proper english and i find it difficult:D i get muddled in my words and i have to pause and think of the word im gonna say. If i speak normally no1 understands a word i say.:P

it wasnt so much that i learnt it. evry1 where im from speaks like that but on a less broad scale so i just grew up speaking that way

LOL, I experienced that same feeling. First time in an all-English speaking country was tough, I gotta say, I mean, I've never so much as spoken that much English orally, so it was tough.

And since I've been immersed in the American culture so much already, I've been developing my speech and whatnot, even my writing, which is probably the least obvious to tell.
Sometimes, I let things slip from my tongue and I'm really conscious about it. One blight. =\

Well, I speak portuguese, duh, English, Spanish, a little bit of Japanese, French, a little bit of german wich will 6, nor bad for a 15 year old guy, I hope I can learn some more.

P.S.: to all of you who speak Spanish, try portuguese, it's like Spanish but a little more harder and cooler. heheheheheh...he

I can speak basic Japanese, in addition to my natural English. I can read some basic Hebrew, that's getting better.

In future, I'd love to have a whack at the Scandinavian languages. ^_^

The Scandinavian languages sound interesting, so now I seriously really can't wait for college and spend all that money studying languages.
No, I'm not being sarcastic.
