Kingdom Hearts VS Kingdom Hearts II

The original. It was SOOO massive. That game took me 2 years to beat, while the second took me about 2 months (I had to restart due to a bad memory card <.< ). The original had so many secret side quests and it just left you hanging sometimes - you didn't know what to do. The second was so simple and easy. You just kept going and going and going and you beat it.

The first also made you not know where you were ever going. Take Hollow Bastion for example - how did we ever get through that? It was SO confusing and there were so many little things you had to do and puzzles... ugh. Each room branched off to twenty other rooms and there were chests out of reach everywhere. Aladdan's world was also like that, try to get around in that world and get every chest. The second was just to linear. To get a chest, all you have to do is use things in that room and open them. The first you had to possibly go to a different room and do a puzzle.

The first to me had WAY more adventure while the second kind of just had running around and gameplay. There were no puzzles in the second. In fact I can't remember if there literally even was one. In KH I there was always something new to find, something to be wondering on. In KH II, once you beat it, you can go back and find 1 or 2 things you didn't have. Nothing new to explore. The Aladdin caves in KH 1 were amazing. I got lost in those so many times. Once again, there were puzzles with the crystals that activated the waterfalls.

Also, most of the battles in KH II were super easy. The bridge battle in Beast's Castle was a toughy, same with the one guy who could teleport in The World That Never Was (haven't played the game in ages...), but other than those two most of the bosses were easy. Drive forms were fun to play with and level up but they made everything way too simple.

So all together in my oppinion KH 1 was the best. I don't care if you guys thought KH II was the best thing ever, it really was too easy. Not enough adventuring. Only one hidden boss that was easy as pie once you got to level 80-85.

The original wins for many different reasons (though I love both games and the whole series thus far). First of all, I love games with good stories, and the first one beat out the second one by far. More interesting and easier to understand. KH1's story didn't have a lot of fluff. Second, I also found the 1st game to be more challenging, and in a fun way. I didn't die once in KH2 until the POTC level. KH2 just was a bunch of button pressing. I also feel like KH1 had better worlds and an overall better feel. It's my favorite game of all time. Mostly because of the memories attached to it, but still it's an amazing game.

Also, I feel like KH2 was a little more repetitive. Maybe repetitive isn't the right word for it, but there was a rhythm to the game that just made it simple and uninteresting.

I preferred the gameplay in the first game, having to time using and executing specials like sonic blade and ars arcanum was more fun and interesting than the way you built a a character into a certain battle style in II. Then I thought II had a better storyline, I loved the organisation and Nobodies, I think there was also a departure from the really childish aspects one had. Also his the keyblades were killer in II, not sure which I rather, probably I as the hidden bosses gave it an edge.

Kingdom Hearts surpassed Kingdom Hearts 2 greatly, in my opinion.

For a start, KH2 was simply too easy, no matter the difficulty setting. The only "hard" battle was against Xaldin at Beast's Castle, really, and at that, only on Proud Mode would I deem it slightly difficult.

The Gummi Routes were rather tedious in KH2, as well, and you really didn't get anything of worth from completing them further than the story required, whereas I found them in KH1 to be rather enjoyable and not some Touhou reminiscent.

Storyline in KH2 was actually rather good, so I'm not going to say that it was surpassed by KH1's, because in all honesty, they were both rather equal, in my books. You can't have one without the other.

The enemies/bosses in KH2 (not regarding strength levels etc.) weren't all that bad, really. The design of a lot of the Nobodies was rather extravagent, as well as somewhat more modern, due to the sharpness that they all tended to contain (See: Assassin). The Organization obviously made quite the impact as well, and was a nice change from the Disney-based villains in KH1. And of course, there were more variations of Heartless, so overall, I think KH2>KH1 in this case.

Usable moves... Well KH2 was a spam of triangle moves, really. I much preferred the setup in KH1, with moves like Strike Raid, Ars Arcanum and other such moves. They made that bit more interesting and exciting, as you had to think tactically when to use them, whereas in KH2, it's just "Oh hey, an enemy. triangletriangletrianglestupidgrin".

But that's just where I stand, anyway.

I beat and completed them both. Loved them both and replay them both.

....but for the oddest reason of which I don't know, I still love Kingdom Hearts more than II, not that II is bad....

I actually enjoyed KHII more than I did the first game. Difficulty wise, KH is much more harder. But I think the storyline (and even the music) was a little better than the first. I also like the gameplay in II more than I did in KH. I don't know, I just had alot more fun playing II than KH. But when I first got II, I couldn't stand the beginning of it. I was more interested in finding out what happened to Sora than watching Roxas' last few days of summer vacation, but now that i've played it more, I really like KHII's beginning.

hard one, I think i like Kingdom hearts better than kingdom hearts 2 when it comes to storyline but in terms of battle system kingdom hearts 2 was defiantly the best because of 1) the reaction commands and 2) the ability to use a different form.

I've played both games twice each. But! I can tell you people that I pick 1 over 2. By the time part 2 rolled around, the story was so ridiculously crazy, that it kinda took some of the enjoyment out for me. But with part 1, everything was simple and clean. It was a nice peacefully story. Part 1 is my second favorite video game ever.
