Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories will be released for the PlayStation 2 in North America this holiday for the retail price of $29.99 USD.

The PlayStation 2 version might be released in Europe, but it is still undecided. It is a shame that Square Enix decided not to bring Final Mix+ along with Chain of Memories.

So I guess a lot of people have now got they what they wanted, but it is indeed a shame, that Final Mix won't be accompanying it. D:
Larxene ftw! :D

What was Final Mix anyway...?

And is this that weird one where you play as both Riku & Sora with cards?

Why must they insist on releasing a million KH games....do they not realise what the first 2 did to my blood pressure?!

I guess it's a good thing... well, if it reaches British shores that is....>_>

Please, tell us the good news that it'll be released for Europe/Britain/Australia/any where else that uses PAL. PLEASE!!

Anyway, this is excellent news, I have been waiting for a while for this to be announced.

CoM for GBA was epic enough, but for PS2, now I'm really excited :D

Final Mix is like a way of SE saying sorry to Japan for giving NA/EU more stuff in our games. So realistically Final Mix is KH2 with added stuff and another, higher, difficulty level...I think. :wacky:

Well this definately solves my confusion problem :monster: I've been wanting to know what went on in this bloody game for quite sometime! Better late than never I suppose though.

Anyways, thanks for the news! I'll definately be picking this game up when it comes out.

The PS2 version of COM is like a different game; Riku is no longer overpowered, and you'll find that dodging plays an important factor in battles. You'll also get to fight Zexion and a 3rd form of Marluxia, as well as extra cards.

Final Mix+ has an extra difficulty called: Critical Mode. Its actually challenging at first; you'll find that all enemies are more aggressive (i.e attack more), deal 4x damage than that of Proud, you have half the normal amount of HP, and you'll gain pre-set abilities at the start....basically, Kelly's worst nightmare. :wacky:

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy that CoM is coming for the PS2, but now I'm a tad pissed about the lack of Final Mix+, but also about buying the GBA version, especially since I've barely played it yet >_<

Still gonna buy it though :monster:

They're not gonna do this, but I would've liked if they had a Japanese voice dub option or something; that would've kewl ^^

But, CoM is when Sora is 14 and Riku is 15, right? So, did they have to find new voice-actors to make an English dub, or did they use Haley Joel Osment for Sora again? But if they did, Sora's gonna sound really old then, right?

Unless Square had Haley, and the other voice actors, do the voice dub way back then, and just released it now :gasp:

The GBA version with insanely weak in my opinion and they are bringing it out for PS2 and not PS3? What is the point in that? SE just made another stupid decision...

^ Because its already been released in Japan as an extra for KH2 Final Mix+. Final Mix + wasn't going to be for the PS3, so why should COM?

Wow this is Major news! I think i will get the gba version.

xD Personally, the only way I'd have ever bought CoM or KH2 would've been if they released Final Mix in the US. At least then it's be a Platinum Hits price for more content (however well-done the content is being a matter of opinion). Personally, I was actually waiting with Final Mix with great expectations... At least it'd give me two games for the price of one with which I could blow my time, but, from what I played of KH2, I'd never pay $20 for it alone.

Mmmmm...they have the new front cover for the game now. It looks well nice. ^_^

Christ.

Why does it always have to be about America? No offence to any Americans out there by the way.

It seems that Europe and other parts such as Australia are usually put to the backburner for these products. If it doesn't reach European/rest of the world shores, then Square-Enix can kiss my ass because I won't buy anymore products.

@Faith - Im suprised it wasn't like Final Mix and Final Mix 2, that where only released in JP. Now you will see all the JP fans begging to Square Enix for a release of KH CoM.
Just like happened with the first KH.

Anyway, i hate the fact they will only release it on US, but, there is a reason they did it. Europe and Japan got the GBA version and now US has the PS2 Version

There is one way to play it...Having a PS3 and Importing the game.

^ RE:COM has already been released in Japan on the PS2; it came along with Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix +. PS3's won't help you much with imports - the disc itself has a code according to its region. So even if the PS3 is region free, it won't play imported PS2 and PS1 games.
