Who thinks that Square-Enix should release a "special collection" of the Advance versions of this and the other classic Final Fantasies for PS2?
I'll explain where I'm going here:

I know that these games have been remade more than once, but the last time we saw FFVI, othr than FFVI Advance, (Which is my favorite in the series, BTW) was on the PS1 as part of the Final Fantasy Anthology, and that was way back in 1999! Not only that, but those games were merely direct ports of the old SNES games. If they re-released FF 1-6 one last time for a current-generation system, I think they would reach a larger audience among the fans. The precise reason I think this way is because I think that these near-perfect remakes should be on more than just the GBA.

What do you guys think??

P.S. I just joined these boards today, so feel free to introduce yourself to me as well as give me your feedback!

Port something onto a current gen system like that? Sounds like a lame and/or bad idea if you ask me...it just doesn't seem worth it. Let's just stick w/the 3D DS route for the classics for now...& I know people can make an argument for the RPGOne retranslation being far better than the Advance version of FFVI...I'll bring it up (though I don't really care as much as it seems...), but NO CELES CHAINED TO THE WALL SPRITE!?! FTW!!

The only reason I'd like to see any more ports of the classic games is if they decided to do 'definitive' versions. i.e. pretty much the GBA versions but keep the original difficulty, a translation that isn't made for 10 yr olds and for all the little censored bits replaced with the original parts. The GBA version were great but I always felt they fell a little short of the experience because of the dumbed down translation and more violent scenes tinkerd with.

Ofcourse I'd just prefer that they would concentrate on XIII than dwelling in the past :neomon:

I know it will NEVER happen but I would like to see all the legacy titles (I-VI) on Xbox Live to download. But as other posters have mentioned, keep the original difficulty and don't censor the crap out of it.

I doubt the PS2 will get any more remakes of any sort from Squenix as the newest generation of consoles has been released for quite some time now and those are the real money makers. I know that the PS2 was my favorite system of all-time, but it's now buried in a shoe box somewhere as I have now fallen addicted to my Xbox 360

I would love all those old games on the PS2 as well, but I doubt it's going to happen and would say with 99.9% assurance that it won't.
