the junctioning system is okay

I enjoyed making Zell's agility and speed really high..and then equipping 100 hastes

I prefer other methods though

the only thing bad about equiping hastes to Zell is that when you use a haste his statss go down ... thats really the only thing i hate about the junctionig system

I didn't have that problem, I never used magic. Instead, I used Renzokuken+Aura, which = win

Well Aura is considered magic and hard one to get also. I usually have Aura junctioned somewhere so i just have squall come in with low HP, risky at times but thats why there are other party members

I wasn't too big with junctioning my first couple of times. I had no idea how things worked; nor did I pay attention to any of the tutorials given throughout the game on how to junction magic. Besides, I didn't use magic too much; just leashed out my summons.

Lately, junctioning has been coming in handy. Especially against the Propaganders. It really helps to junction Death to Strength.

I loved it! It made getting your characters' stats high very easy and I never had to struggle at all with the switching like I did with materia. (I hated materia) Especially if you take the time to linger around the islands closest to heaven and hell. I never used magic either. I used full cure (or what ever it was called) Treatment, and Aura. That got the job done right. My party, Squall, Quistis, and Zell, were all fairly physically strong so I didn't need magic.

Well that was one good thing with the junction, u can really only improve yur stats, while with materia if u equip a magic materia it usually decrease yur strength which sucked

I was meaning that I didn't use magic that was junctioned, wasn't that obvious?

we all have our own ways of playing the game some ways are better than others I`d prefer either Tenshi Or Sephiroth Gene. well mines well how about me saying I reached level 100 on pretty much everybody in disk one and beat Omega weapon without heroes that should explain enough and Juntioning is awesome

Funny thing is i couldnt do much on this game at first till i asked my friend what i was doing wrong (he told me how to junction and make my weapons stronger) and the book was right cuz i was trying to go through the game with my initial weapons and it was true....my friends did laugh at me  really in this game there was no need for majic except the monsters that really repel weapons was a cool thing to have to junction like in ff7 whenyou had to junction the right combinations or your weapon was useless :)

First time I played i was thinking WTF are these people playing at, But as i got more into it I started to love it. I think this is proberly one of the best things they have done.

it took some getting used to, i admit, but i prefer that over the common level up ways. there's the basic lvl up and up a few stats. but that sucked. FFX's sphere grid was good, materia, yeah, i'll give it that. FFIX was a crappy attempt at copying the materia imo.

I see my name, but why? Are you appreciating my technique?

I don't like how using your Magic results in a permanent loss of stat. I like FF7's one time penalty for using materia or better yet the FF9 Ability System. The Sphere Grid was alright, just to planned out for my tastes.

I know this topic is very old but this is the one reason why I liked playing the FF games so far. You are given a lot of control over your characters growth. From how fast they gain exp, to how high or low you want a certain stat to be. FF7 has did this a great justice and FF8 furthers this. Coupled with the ability devour and LVL UP/LVL DOWN, the junction system basically lets you make your own battle system. @_@

This system gave the game real high replay value for me.

I definately prefer the materia system, im replaying final fantasy 8 coz i think i need to refresh the story line in my head as was having a debate about Ultimecia, but anyways. I think the junctioning system is alright when you get used to using it. I think all these different systems are a way to test us the gamers, and it makes the games more interesting.
