The title refers to the heart when you get shocked by an unexpected situation, or a terrifying one. We've all talked about what scares us most, but this time, it's what shocks us.
Share your experiences; has anything made your heart 'skip a beat'?
Or, what was the most frightening experience of your life? Things that made you jolt even.

There's always that time, and I'm sure, absolutely sure, we've had an experience like that when we gasped/screamed/shouted out loud, "You might have just given me a heart attack!", or some other form in some other language even. :P

I've had many, so share as much as you dare type.

1.) Dreadful 'Queen of spiders' in my bathroom. Scariest, well, maybe not scariest...but it certainly did make my heart skip a bit when I first saw it, skinny 5 inch long legs and all.
Gave me quite the shocker really.

More later. :P
But for now...yours.

My hearts only ever skipped a beat if I'm running like freak'n crazy. Usually this occurs when I'm out at night pulling a prank on someone like bombing people with water balloons as they come out of the bar. I do like to stick around though for a while before I run off, just to see their looks on their faces and hear their colorful vocabulary.

On my way home from the subway station, I nearly got assaulted by two guys on a motorcycle...they were bitching about me having done something with a certain girlfriend, and that if I ever came near her again, they'd kill me.

Funny, because I've never seen them before, nor had any contact with any girl for a long while. I tried to reason with them, said I had no idea what they were on about, but of course they wouldn't listen. One pushed me backwards, and threatened me more as I walked away... around the corner, then made the fastest run ever home...they followed me on their motorcycle. I took an inner route and hid behind sheds, so when I heard a motorcycle drive by, they didn't see me. At the last shed, I heard them coming back...I looked, but it wasn't them. Then I made a run home, and went to the police station afterwards. Police patrol happened more often afterwards, apparently.

Mine would be after our coach roof ripped off after going under a low bridge in France. That was one school trip I wont be forgetting in a long time!

Alright. I'm scared of deep bodies of water. So I was at SeaSide and my friend made me get on this water ride with her. When we were bought all the way up to the top all around us were the ocean. My heart was beating mad fast. As we to the very tip of the drop my heart skipped a beat.
:lmao: I swear I was so scared. I tought something seriously was gonna go wrong and I were going to fall into the ocean and drown. :lmao:

Yes, this actually happens to me when I’m either half asleep or fully asleep and have a dream that I’m falling from a very high place, then suddenly wakeup in shock. If you’ve ever had a dream like this before, then you definitely know what I’m talking about.

My heart skipped a beat when I felt something on my back at night and when I turned around I saw a large shadow on the wall o_O I swear it wasnt mine
I was 12 or younger ..
