I shouldnt complain as Im 9 hours into it, SLOW I know lol. But os far I keep thinking Im playing on an Easy setting almost. Now the game may get harder as I advance through chapters, just about to start chapter 5. But it seems like Im not being challenged yet.

It took me 1 attempt to get the Shiva sisters and 2 for Odin. Maybe the Eidion battles will be more difficult later on. Im not sure. Im not moaning or bashing the game, not at all. Im liking what I see.

But everything seems to be laid out before me. The FFX map for example is useful to a point with enemies, although treasure spheres locations would be helpful lolz, but I want to go and explore. And Im sure I will do later on in game. There are alot of save points in the game and I was pissed off at lack of them in older ones. But now its like Square Enix are being rather ... whats the word ... well, like they cant trust me to live past the next battle, so they hand me another save point 4 minutes away from the previous one. But as I mentioned I hated a great distance between save points in other RPGs, but I feel like Im being treated like a baby almost. I cant think of the right term lol. Others have mentioned being healed after battle takes away the whole tactic and watching your potions. This to me comes as a pain, but also a blessing. Not everyone drops potions in this game. Its like SE have wrapped me up in cotton wool and given me a game that reassures me if I die, they are there to help and always have a backup plan.

I sound ridiculous going on, but its just been nitpicking me for awhile now and I wanted to say something. I do love this game, dont get me wrong, but its like its too ... easy ... I maybe wrong!

I think the frequent save points is so you can pick it up and play it without having to spend hours infront of the screen, and like you said, I think they're trying to address complaints about save points in previous games being few and far between.

As for not being able to explore, so far, I'm taking the story into consideration, it makes sense that you have to keep moving forward and there isn't time to explore, but there's still a lot to take in, I've found it just as linear as FFX, so it hasn't really phased me.

As for Eidolon battles, I don't think they're supposed to be boss battles, so to speak, you're meant to find out what pleases the Eidolon to unlock it. I will say that I've found regular boss battles to be really satisfying so far, each one has been challenging, stretching everything to the limit, I really enjoy that, it keeps me on my toes.

As for healing after every battle, I like it. A lot. When I first heard about it, I was apprehensive, but after playing the game, I've realised, it works in context, if I didn't get healed after each battle, I'd either have to have someone as a medic permanently, or use a hell of a lot of potions.

Also you say you're up to chapter 5 and don't feel challenged yet? The boss at the end of the chapter is the biggest bitch yet, it's a real step up in difficulty and a huge wake up call if you've just plodded along in the game xD

You're only 9 hours into it. Relax. The game opens up more and more the farther along you are. The battles get so intensely hard you'll wonder if it's even the same game, and the field is open for you to roam. CP becomes incredibly hard to earn and will take some grinding to max out your characters. Just sit back and enjoy the ride :p the story is very good, though the dialogue can get a bit campy.

I'm more or less in the same position. I get what you mean though. So far I have not been very viciously challenged yet and battles are usually a simple case of hammering the X button and maybe the L1 button for Paradigm Shift. The only real challenging moment I had was against Odin (three vain attempts before I considered Spark Rings and using Ravagers). I'm sure it will get much harder later on. The earlier chapters are just a case of plodding along long, dull locations (Vile Peaks, ahem.).

I anticipate Pulse. That will be the chance to run around freely as the Sanctum wouldn't be after your heads as much. Pulse will probably be the chance to finally do some grinding and difficult sidequests. I'm wondering how much it will contrast in terms of difficulty then. Will I be tearing my hair out? :hmmm:

I'm glad you found Odin easy. Must've been about 20 odd game overs before I beat him! But thats because I was in the same position as you, Square literally took me by the hand through the first few chapters, I noticed an increase in difficulty, it was only slight, then Odin was like TIME TO THINK!!

I've just started Chapter 5 myself, looking back on Chapter 1, 2 and 3 I've concluded they were very bland and easy, but I think from about the start of Chapter 4 to where I am now has been fun and I have noticed an increase in difficulty, albeit Square have took me by the hand and walked me through it... somewhat. ;] Least the battles are fun :D

.Swift, you will be tearing your hair out. You'll get to the point where you've almost killed this guy that you've been working on for 30 minutes, and then you die. It's the worst and best feeling in the world at the same time, knowing you have to do the whole thing over again. Such a challenge! You'll be proud when you beat some of the optional bosses.

Thats the term I was searching for. Making sure you dont slip up during your game play by having a backup plan to everything.

Some good points made and I do hope I start to get angry at the game when I cant pass something lol XD

I can definitely see why you're saying it's easy. I don't want it to be entirely easy either and I want a challenge. I'm only an hour into the game so far. It's been easy, yes, but I can't really complain yet since I haven't played much. But I definitely know the feeling of wanting to be challenged anytime soon.

I just enter pulse it very wide open, and not only that even the reg monsters are kicking my ass. Not the little ones but like behemoth king, are the giant creator don't know his name he kills every one with one are two stomps.
Plus to me the boss battle are fun and yes if i remember right if you using hope and lighting then the boss battle you about to fight is fk annoying.

Yeah... get to 35+ hours (Chapter 12) and you'll see a... um... change to how it is now.

The boss etc. fights are no longer easy and even some combinations of regular enemies will take one look at you before proceeding to ruin your day if you're not extremely well prepared.

Just so you know :D

It was easy...But not anymore... I've just entered the wide open fields of Pulse. I've encountered some monsters.. I was like WTF... Omg i can't keep up with this!!! It really frustrated me... I might go back and fight the tiny ones <.<

It gets challenging. Only at Chapter 9, but it's certainly more challenging than chapter 5. I only beat the Chapter 8 boss because I buffed my guys so much that it hit like no damage...
