Now that I have reached level 70 and am near the very end of the Stormblood's main campaign, I have a bit of a problem. Since my access to Stormblood has been granted because I received a copy of Shadowbringers as a Christmas gift, it has immediately enabled me to continue levelling my character past level 70. The game gave me no option to halt any installation of Shadowbringers until I finished Stormblood. At first I hoped the only thing I'd miss out on would be the title screen and movie for Stormblood (as it has Shadowbringers there instead). Sadly, I was wrong!

Why should I be worried about this? I am aware that I have the final boss left for Stormblood's MSQ and then probably a large number of patch content (MSQ and things like Manderville quests, raids, dungeons, etc)… With all of this, I am now conscious that by the time I begin Shadowbringers I might likely be level 75 already!

I really want to experience the expansion as intended by the game and I do not want to be overlevelled and find it to be too much of a breeze.

I’m not sure whether this problem is unique or common. Any thoughts on what I should do? Can you freeze levelling? Or will I now have to level up a new job just so that I can play through the patch content if I want to avoid this problem? If so, what is the fastest way to do this as I have no interest in grinding to levelling up multiple jobs and just want to experience the story.

Any words of advice are appreciated. If not... Guess I'm Superman from now on!

I think levelling will be a tad bit easier, however, I was completely caught up on content, and I still ran into "level locks" quite frequently, so in terms of "difficulty" when it comes to that I wouldn't worry about it.

Besides if you want extreme difficulty just join an absolute idiotic group in PF who can't for the life of them communicate. :wacky:

Jokes aside, maybe someone else has better tips, but I found it didn't take away the experience, and as I mentioned, I still ran into level locks.

Sadly with the way gearing and levelling works in this game, even the ultimate raids (Such as the UCoB / Ultima raids I've posted here before) are a joke 6 months after release. Even if you remained at the correct level, you're still going to be face rolling every trial and raid until you hit current content because of iLevel sync and echo. If for example you decided to switch to another job, you're still going to be matched up with level 80s in i475 gear sync'd down and the end result will be the same.

i.e it's already too late to experience 99% of the content in the game as it released and was intended and so it's not something you should worry about right now!

I... forgot about Echo... lol!!! Sephirot turned into a little bitch when that came about :wacky: I mean he was already before, but... I just wanted to rub salt in his wounds!

Seph :cautious:

It sucks because even casual stuff like dungeons are remarkably easier than they used to be. I mean, after doing the ultimate fights I'm a lot better as a player than I was back when but even still. Everything dies in half the time and there's 0 required effort from anyone at this point. You just go through the motions (If you even feel like it).

Buuuuut I guess SE needs to keep the casual audience engaged. God forbid people actually have to try to do something, like in every other video game on the planet :censored:

That's true. I guess the duties and dungeons, etc, will still be synched. Though it'll be easier than it would have been on release by now anyway.

I guess my main concern now is that wandering about in the areas will become too easy as the local fauna and monsters will hardly be a threat to me. The only thing to threaten me being the infernal La-Hee!

Maybe I am exaggerating the rate at which I might level. After now beating the core game of Stormblood I am still not even a fifth of the way through my experience bar between level 70 to level 71. I don't seem to be earning a great deal of exp right now, and I'm fine with that.

I also just realised that I'd have to level another job to 70 in order to access the missions anyway, so I'd just be suffering the same problem but with another job.
