i didnt watch the video - i dont need to to say this - the bible is whatever you want it to be - personally i think its BS yet my friends religious belives in it and all that jazz....

its up to your beliefs really...this is like a neverending question

First off, the bible isn't to be taken literally. The movie or clip takes it literally and not for its meaning. The bible is suppose to be about meaning and not the stories themselves.

If it were the stories, look at Leviticus. xD. That segment will show you that its alright to stone misbehaved children and such.

Ahh, Penn & Teller, yes I remember that episode, they always made me laugh not just that one, all their episodes made me laugh, like Aeiris said it all depends of you, if you want to believe it or not, after all that’s what faith is about, unless I got that one wrong.

Personally I think there are just to many people that want to disregard the bible

I thought the Bible was supposed to teach you the right morals. I think it's not supposed to be taken literally but more figuratively in that we're supposed to divine its meaning rather than searching or questioning whether something the Bible says really happened or not.
And some of the stories are fact and scientifically proven. I.e. the Flood.

Wow I think that's a little far fetched.
Regardless of what you think about the bible, you should still respect what the rest of the world thinks about it. o_O

I was raised as a Christian, and so the bible was always supposed to be the one truth in the world.

And then I found out about the 'editing' that took place, and all of the other little things that everybody points out to discredit it.

In my opinion, the bible is a collection of written works that is supposed to be taken as a whole, and used as a religious benchmark. The stories of Christ should be taken as moral and philisophical guidelines.

If there's one thing that the Bible isn't, it's a biography. Of anyone.

And the bible is supposed to have more scriptures in it, They edited alot of them out, and now they are finding even more scriptures saying that god was married and other stuff,

There s for shure some truth told in the Bibel but i dont bieve everything in it.
Like some other iked to say its now written by god its written by Men and its been written again and again so many tranlating happend to this "book".
In the one religion bibe told that First Eva and Adam there kids made other kids and so on.
In the other Relgion bibel there is written First Eva and Adam they had there kids on left because of killing his brother and then he meet that Woman of his.
So many different storys are written in so many bibels i dont think everything is truth but there is shure i bit of truth in it.
Its your sel to make up your mind what you like to believe.

The bible is not to tell you story about what happened when Jesus walked on the earths, its to teach you how to life the life of a Holy man ( and i use that term VERY lighly)

I don't agree with a lot of ideas surrounding the nature of the bible, but I do agree with this.

Yes and no, the Bible projects ideas and that is never a bad thing. But with ideas comes danger, I don't believe the original compilers of these fables meant for any hurt to be done but the problem is that people take it LITERALLY, its not meant to be taken litereally its meant to be thought about, absobed, questioned, argued.

Literal believers of the bible put the dog in dogma.

Myself, i personally dont buy into all this bible stuff in the slightest. There is way too many contradictions for anyone to actually believe it.

I mean, who started off the human chain? Granted according to the bible it was adam and eve, but then didnt only 2 of everything go into Noah's Ark while every thing else washed away?? So was it Mr. and Mrs. Noah who restarted the Human chain?

There is so much BS when it comes to religion, i think everyone should do what we think is right and lead your life the way you want to, not how God, or Allah or who ever you buy into tell you to. You make mistakes, who's gonna help you? It certainly wont be God, you make your own path in this game.

Two of everything besides the humans. They added two of everything, male and female, in order to mantain the different species. As for humans, the ones who entered the Ark were Noah, his wife, two of his sons and their wives.

The others weren't allowed to enter because they never believed what Noah said, and therefore "God" closed the door to the ark and sealed it in order to avoid any last attempts of entry after the destruction began.
