This is one of my favorite "is" statements. Looneymoon could probably correct me on the proper literature jargon but for now, it's close enough. The basic premise of these type of essays is to describe something intangible by calling it something tangible and describing why. I would like to see people here to try and accurately access themselves through an "is" statement. You're not intangible but your concept of self is. Describe how you see yourself by saying you are some physical object and why you're like that. Please put effort into this thread... it will be interesting to see what people come up with if they actually try.

All first sentences should start "[username] is" and then a following object and description.

"That of which is, usually isn't."

A quote from a passage I once read in a book at school. I cannot remember the name of the one who wrote it, but it intrigues me for it is often a very common thing that happens.

Someone didn't read the opening post properly. That said, I think I'd rather use my real name than my username, since the latter changes so often. I've just realised how difficult this task could be, actually - summarising your entire being into a one-lined metaphor.

EDIT:
I don't like the one I originally had here, I'll come back and change it once I've thought of something more creative. xD
