Is "Ribbon" Really all that Great?

So I just saw a Youtube Video descrbing and easy way to get "Ribbon" and I looked it up, read what it does yada yada yada. Well, if I may puzzle, I'd like someone to tell me, Is it worth it?
I know of other ACC. in FF12 that are just USEFUL. That's not to say Ribbon isn't, but personally, if it can't defend against Instant-Death, (I haven't found a source that says it does or doesn't), then it's really not all that great when you can put something better in the ACC slot more fitting for a character/ other things equipped. For example, I have Balthier equipped with the Masamune, and Genji Gloves, along with other armor that helps to make Spd/Crits/Combos better and more likely. I am fighting Yiazmet, who sometimes uses Stone Breath, and often uses Death strike. Other than that, there's really not been a problem from him. As for my other Characters I have other ACC. that are seemingly more useful. I'm pretty sure I have my 2nd character with Cat-Ear Hood and my 3rd with Hermes Sandals. 2nd is Fran who is ranging, and 3rd is Penelo, who I control and who is Mage. Sure it's taken me about 3 hours to get him down to about 3/5, but this seems to be effective. Is there really any need for a Ribbon? Or is it more crucial to other bosses? Note that I'm at the End of the Game and the only thing I see be useful against is Cúchulainn, whom I've already defeated with no problem. Maybe I'm just going on a rampage? Also Note I haven't attempted Omega yet. How much of a big deal is he?

To me the ribbon is just another thing you can brag about. A lot of useless stuff is much harder to get then the best equipment. I'm not saying everything else was easy, but I'm saying some of the weaker weapons and accessories were harder for me to get then the Zodiac Spear or Masamune. Hell you can get a Tournasol and Masamune in less time then that rare drop from the Larva Eater.

Anyways the ribbon is a good accessory but lacks the greatness it has had in other final fantasy titles. If you are trying to win it from the level 99 chocobo then in my opinion it isn't worth it. I like a lot of the other accessories better.

Haha. Thanks. I thought so too. And There's actually 3 Zodiark Spears in the Game and I got the last two by chance. One Helluva Lucky chance I'd say. lol. I've never heard of it anywhere, but I got it. lol. I don't use them, just because they're spears and not all the practical. Pure attack power isn't really all that important. I've got them on 2 of my back up characters, but I use a measure with my mage (or some other magic power bonus thing, i can't remember honestly) Artemis Bow with my range (a bow with range? who'd a thunk it?) and Masamune, the best combo sword in the game. I want to say that Vaan has a spear, Ashe has a spear or I'll switch to magic increase depending on when I use her, then Vaan has a spear and Bashe has spear or something else depending. Other than that I've gotten anything and everything you can purchase, and most every other loot in the game. Honestly, It's possible I have a Ribbon and don't use it. I switched to my Backwards compatible PS3, and I don't have a memory card slot for PS2 games, so it's been since last Christmas when I played the PS2 last...

I've found a million uses for the ribbon. Each one being that they RESIST ALL STATUS EFFECTS. It's ten acc. in one.

best acc for those malboro's. especially the ones inside Giruvegan and beyond, No Disease status ftw!

Oh don't get me wrong, It's amazing in certain situations, I just don't use it. Esuna or remedy will do same thing, and you can have another acc. and like i said before, if it can't prevent sudden-death, then it's not that great. lol. in FFVII is was amazing though, and I had one on all my characters. as well as 2 mystiles. (i had 3 in the orig version. ,but my dad stole mygame and when i got a new one i only got the Greatest Hits version )

You can get by the game without it, but it's still useful nonetheless. It really is up to you to decide whether or not it's worth acquiring.

But for me, it's a must-get
