Is my game bugged?

On disc 1, Watts won't start the kidnapping mission. All he does is stand there and ask me if I would like to play cards. I've played him, won the Angelo card off him, grabbed the magazine from the back, checked out the dummy president... everything I can think to do, and he still refuses to ask me to carry out the mission.

I bought FFVIII off PS3's Playstation Network, so I don't have any discs. I'm speculating if this is the problem or not, but maybe someone will have a definitive answer. Thanks for helpin'!
 
So what does he say when you talk to him? And did you already had the mission briefing?
 
Which button are you hitting to speak to him? I THINK Square makes them ask to play cards everytime, so it MIGHT be that... try using X? :hmmm:
 
Hm ok let me think here.

Have you gone to the back of the train into rinoas room yet? As once you go in there she will go back to the main carriage and the debriefing should begin. You have to talk to watts and zone. I think if i remember right once you have rinoa there and debriefed then you talk to zone to begin the whole thing.

^^ That's what I think too. I don't remember exactly but I think you do have to talk to Rinoa. That's what I would try to do. ^_^. Then, try talking to watts maybe?
 
Yeah because what i remember from that part of the game is you get onto the train and do see those characters but then you have to go to rinoas room where she talks to you, remembers your the one who danced with her etc. Then she explains her limits and information and they she joins your team.

Once that is done and you go back to watts and zone it should begin lol.
