SO is it worth getting?

Ive heard people say that the characters arnt developed and the storyline is weak.....im also worried about the battle system - gambits?? and is it still ATB??

Meep!

Well, just play and find out for yourself. Most people's problems are with character interaction, but you may find that the characters are fine and stuff.

The storyline isn't weak, regardless of what people say. It's better then the run of the mill LETS DESTROY THE WORLD scenario.

It's a good game. Ok, ok, it's an amazing game. It's not for people who like soap operas, let's just put it that way.

PLEASE don't pass it up, it's truly great. I was so sad when it ended, I didn't want it to end, so I saved a file before hand and I go back to it every once and a while... ahhh, the memories. This game wins.

Hmm, like everyone said...it really depends on your preferences. I say buy it anyway just because it's "Final Fantasy" =) Graphics are awesome (if you're into eyecandy) and character development are so-so.

Gambits...erm, I happen to like it actually. Storyline's kinda confusing and certainly politically-based...but otherwise it was very well thought-out.

And ATB...um, that's kinda hard to explain. I mean, there's still the usual time bar thingy, but we don't have to touch that "X-action" button as often as we did because the gambits does the job for ya'.

Just a quick question, can you turn off the Gambit system and tell all the characters what to do when there ATB is full? because if you can i think id definatly play the game like that lol.

well, the ATB only starts to charge, when you give out an action, if your gambits are off. But then, after the action, there is a small standby time, then you can give out another command. But gambits give the command ASAP... just mind having the right gambits. BTW... there are some characters that join every now and then, but you can't order them to act... they simply so as they will...

yes, this game is well worth the buy ... bringing a new scenario to the final fantasy franchise ... well not really new, but it builds upon whats been done and there is really more interaction between you and the game ... now yes you can turn the gambits off but im not sure about ordering the characters once you have them off .. ide think you would have to go to each one every time your ready to give a command and make them the lead character ... which would be kinda time consuming when your fighting bosses .. but hey, i never tried it so i dont know how it would work out for you ... but dont pass this up ... its a must have!
