If Today

I'd say "Fuck that" and burn the draft card.

The war in Iraq doesn't seem to have a point to it. How is this helping the US any? Trade? Allies? I doubt it. I don't see any benefits for picking up a gun and marching off to Iraq. Besides, I'm no fighter.

I don't even think we belong in Iraq.
And think about it. Bush only has (less than) one more year in office. You think he's not going to pull one last stupid power hungry move like bombing Iraq?
I think he's that stupid personally...

I would shoot myself in the leg...since I don't think that lesbianism would keep girls out the army like it would for guys...

On second thought, I just remembered that I'm a girl.
I would simply get pregnant.

And actually, supposedly men don't have to go either if they're married with a family, soooooo...that would work for both me and my guy.

But it sure would be a bitch afterwards. o.0

I would definately fight if the country i was living in was directly in danger or if a country that is important to us is being invaded by a country that will kill its people for no good reason...

Problem is, everything is arbitrary when it comes to international politics.
Anyone can declare war on anyone and they don't even need a good reason to invade a nation --- they can even ignore the rules completely like Hitler did and hope for the best.

And isn't invading Iraq to fight terrorism not a good reason either? :P
I mean, come on, the U.S. targeted Iraq when almost every country has some form of terrorism, or terrorists affiliated with the Al Qaeda.

It's helping the US promote it's historical 'policeman of the world' role.
Don't get me wrong, the U.S. has the right goal in mind, but it's just the way we are executing it right now that's the problem.
More benefits?

Possible combat experience for future wars, testing out new weapons and such, showing off American strength, etc.
Right now, there doesn't seem much more to it, as the whole 'nuclear' thing has already been blown to smithereens.

I doubt he would.
That would ruin the Republicans for decades.
And they seriously, seriously need to clean their image.

SAME HERE!!1 YEAH FUCK U, IM PLAYING FFX SO FUCK OFF!! :D

Come on now.....

well i meant that i would fight if that particualr country was gonna somekind of domino effect where when one caountry falls, we're next...

I would serve in Iraq though if its just to train the Iraqi forces to take care of there own country though... thats what the Australians are doing now which is trying to put things right...

Normally i would say hell no, but i just watch that military flick jarhead or something like that and i i thought about it i wouldnt like to go to war but really on the other hand people need to go thru things like this so they can really apreciate what they got and have news views in life i see alot of winning from kids and people this days for simple things people are very apoiled today something bad needs to happend so we can come back to basics i dont know if that made any sense but what ever.

...umm...since that entire thing was one big sentence, that is a little difficult to understand. Though I think I get what you're talking about. It's easier to appreciate something when you are doing the fighting for it. Everything has been taken for granted.

Which one has the pun?

I agree. You can only care as much about something if you've put time and effort into it, like being a soldier.
