*FACEPALM* What ever happen to freedom of speech? I don't know how things are in other parts of the world, but in the US people do have the ability to do what they want as long as it isn't breaking any laws or infringing upon another person's rights. There are a lot of things that I don't like that I deal with in life. I am utterly disgusted by extremely over weight people wearing attire that would make me want to throw up. You know what though? I don't run up to a store manager ,or that person, and tell them that the person/they should change their clothing because it's bothering me.

Take media for example. Both MEN AND WOMEN are constantly falsely represented, over-sexualized and etc. Take Kratos.....a lot of the time he's a half god on a raging spree, but he doesn't represent all men. It's completely fine to see violent acts done to men in media (e.g. a Super-hero movie), but put a female in the same situation, and it's all of a sudden a problem? I don't understand why all these double standards exist. The thing is, if such media was being proven to be the root cause of crime rates rising, then I could understand that. That hasn't been proven yet to my knowledge. Here's the thing with entertainment media I wish some people would get. If you don't like it, you do not have to spend your time on it. Not everything is going to be catered to you. That is why there is so much variety in the world. If you really want to make some changes, get into a position where you can actually do things your way. An example would be becoming a game developer or a movie director for example. If a person wants to cosplay as a certain character, they should be able to do it. If I want to go out and write a story with all minority ethnic people in it, I should be able to do it. If the next person wants to eat cheetos until the end of time, they should be able to do so.

My rant is over.

Welcome to 2016! Special snowflakes will find any little thing about everything to be offended by and demand that it gets changed to THEIR liking. And the worst part is that they're catered to and enabled. Every. Single. Fucking. Time. It's ridiculous. Artists have to change their work because people don't like it and are offended by it. Big deal. Get the fuck over it.
People are literally killing creativity. I feel terrible for the artists.

Planet Fitness, that's all I have to say in "two words" for this topic. Though this video is more in regards to censorship.

Let me dive into this video with more details. So should she have been made to cover up? I do not know the context that was taken. I don't know if there was more than one complaint. The person who is vlogging the particular subject seems a little more on the biased side. Though what I do agree with, if there is no explicit rule with what is considered "lude", then of course not. How much did this one particular person have on the event? Were they a family member of the organization or some random call out?

Personally unless everything is listed out to a T, then you can't punish someone and tell them to cover up. I also do not know what would have happened if she stood her ground. Would she have been forced to leave? From the image in the top right, she does not seem like she was showing more than she should. We all know at other Cons far more is shown off. This video could be purely ratings driven and purely reactionary and showing the wrong image. I'll do my research I guess later on.

So to the title, I completely agree about disliking these entitled people who think their will is the way of the world. I don't care if you are the most accomplished individual or the most insignificant individual, you still have to have an open mind and adapt in this world. I'm not saying the girl should be allowed to be bare. I'm saying that being from a sheltered mindset and/or not exposed to games, does not give them the right to be ignorant. Looking at things from a different angle should always be the first go to before making someone who only has 2-3 outfits for a "CON" to not participate at all.

Let me put another example:

A month ago my friend was running pretty hard at "Planet Fitness" on a treadmill. Due to their policies, they are allowed to ask someone to leave. A customer complained that my friend was "Competing" due to the speed at which my friend was running. When they told it to the management, my friend had to leave for the day. Obviously, it sounds really bad.. but they have their over the top policies. My thing is this, if you think it's really.. competing then in my eyes heavy lifting would be.

So in any case, it's pretty bad when someone can't keep their views to themselves or adapt that others may be in the right and they may be wrong. To be a whistle blower, because you are a little uncomfortable about a situation or a person is called.. "being a prude."

In terms of the cosplayer, I haven't seen much of that video but if it's bad enough then I can see the problem. This is a public place where a lot of kids are probably going to be. If it's just that pic of her with those skin-tight...tights(?) on then there's no problem whatsoever.

In terms of people saying things shouldn't exist in general if they don't like it, I notice it a lot with things in entertainment. For example, people who don't like X Factor always say it shouldn't exist (this being something I like to watch). It's one of the most selfish notions to try and push. If you don't like it, stop complaining and trying to get it taken down and just don't watch it :/.

Yes, the person that made the video tends to be against censorship. One of the reasons is because the person believes that it would create a domino effect with no end in sight. Chalk it up as "give it an inch, they take a mile" as a perspective. The photo in the top right is what the person looked like after they covered up for the cosplay. Here's a link to the site the video creator did the video based on: https://www.lewdgamer.com/2016/06/25/female-cosplayer-forced-cover-ceo/

Based on the cosplayer, the complaint seemed to have been from just a single person that complained to staff. You are correct that there are cosplays out there far more revealing. This isn't a case where I can look at it and think: "Yes this is putting people in danger, so it must be addressed". I understand the territory that comes with cosplaying. A lot of cosplayers put a lot of time and effort into their outfit and look. So with stuff like this happening, it wouldn't be too far fetched for me to assume the possibility of certain cosplays being banned all together in the future.
