I felt like this was the best place to put this thread but feel free to shift it somewhere else.

So, guys and gals, what is it about a person that ticks all the right boxes for you? What makes you, literally, think, "Oh, I would"?

Keisha's picture in the Member Picture Thread reminded me just how hawt female drummers are. :gasp: Also, I like a girl who likes to keep up her appearance but isn't obsessed with them. Shoulder-length or longer hair is good - the best look to me is either wavey or straight hair, not tied back or anything - just hanging down as it would. A nice wee fashion sense, a good grasp of grammar, plenty of hilarious banter and suchlike are a must.

Physically, I like a rubenesque, proportional, feminine figure. Nothing more beautiful or sexy than that. Oh, and hair at least the length of Garnet's after she cuts it. Don't care about eye colour.
I like a fair, rosy complexion. No fake tans or sunburn kthx. I also have an aversion to most make-up and body piercings. I like the natural look. Don't like the typical hair in a bun style either. A single ponytail is nice though.
Also, smart clothes are the way to go. And no, designer sports wear doesn't count.


For personal qualities, intelligence, confidence, and wit, are really valuable. Persistent low self-esteem just makes me feel like I'm preying on someone, and the depression is contagious. Some nervousness is cool though. Really like the nerdy look, just so long as it isn't combined with emo.
I'm not so sure about overly-balanced or overly-one sided personalities. Being too social would put me off big time, and being too anti-social would also be a deterrent.
 
Oh, I forgot to mention: feel free to post pictures, or relate to famous figures, to help describe your preference. Just try not to let it turn into the Hot Men/Women threads.

Looks aren't important to me, because I know I'm not the best looking gal in the world, but I would like someone who likes me for who I am, and has a great sense of humour, and someone who makes life seem more interesting than it is. Looks is just a bonus to me.
 
A sense of humour similar to mine is a must, just somebody who can generally make me laugh and is fun to be around.

Err.. intelligence, doesn't have to be particularly profound, but good knowledge about things can be very impressive to me and very appealing in a guy. Aslong as he isn't up his own ass mind you, that really annoys me. >_> But if we can have decent conversations then that's great.

Oh and a good taste in music is also really appealing to me, it doesn't have to be the exact same as mine, but if it's varied and somewhat similar I find it rather interesting. Being able to play instruments is very very appealing also.

As far as looks go I don't really have preferences, but a dazzling smile can make me melt. >_>
 
Well I'll prolly be biased here because of my girlfriend, but I like a girl with medium-longer hair, shoulder length or longer.. blonde, brown eyed.. also I like ponytails :D

Then again, I've dated girls who don't have that and I was happy with them.. I know I'm not amazing so I take what I can get.

I'm happy with my current girlfriend though n.n

Someone with a bit of dress sense aswel, Im sick of seeing the same old shirts/jeans or tracksuit combos

This is quite odd for me to describe conisdering my age. :wacky:

I like men who look young and handsome, of course. I do like nice eyes and medium brown to dark short hair. I do like messy hair, but don't go farther than medium long hair. -__-
I do like nicely dressed men, though sometimes messy kinds. I really hate how guys in my school pull their pants to half their ass to look all gangsta. :ffs:
For personality, I'd choose a good sense of humor to cheer me up when I'm down. That'd really help at times. Sweetness is a good one too, so is kindness. But I do like strong men in appearance and personality.

That's it, apparently. For marrying, that'd be another story. The one I just wrote is for dating. :monster:
 
Ooh hair, I like longish hair on guys. Not toooo long but not really short either. Curly hair is cute, I hate it when boys straighten their hair. >_> I also can't stand hair gel, bleykkk. ><

And a nice dresser too, but that's rare. D:

I like someone who is a lot like me. I'm really picky with relationships, so i'm not the easy-to-get-a-hold-of type. I like girls who have long hair, dont mind what colour. I find blue eyes really cute on girls and i love cuteness. Hmm...i like them to be shorted than me (which isn't hard since i'm quite tall myself), i like them to have a decent fashion sense and to be kind of mischevious and cheeky in a good way like me. I love getting teased and humour :P

I like someone who is really outgoing and can spend a lot of her time with me, talk and be open with me, can connect, is caring, compassionate and is never mean and isn't selfish or bitchy. I only like someone who has a lot in common with me or tbh i dont see the point. If you have a great interest in drama or music then you've instantly got my interest. But most importantly i look for someone who doesn't use me and love me for my weird, unselfish, caring random, crazy, "fuck it, why not" attitide, cheeky, mishevious etc personality. Oh and i really love romance and shit so if you're romantic thats a super bonus :D
 
Someone that knows how to listen. Possibly a bit of a chatterbox, as long as they know how to listen. And I don't like curly hair, or makeup. Someone that isn't that stupid either, and can laugh at jokes that relate to them, like blonde jokes to a blonde, cos I never insult people behind their backs, it's to their face or nothing. A bit of intelligence, too. Not too bothered about a feminine figure, just no facial hair or anything like that. lol. Possibly an interest in crude humour.

Personality wise, I like people with really good humor, who can make me laugh :D (It really isn't hard -.-) Also someone who can both put up with and keep up with me. I tend to spaz out and go everywhere a lot. Anyone who doesn't get annoyed by me is awesome :33

Looks wise, my only preference is like, longishhh hair really. I don't mind for anything else xD

Similar sense of humour, someone who likes the same things as me.. But they can't be exactly like me, because that would be boring. They'd have to be really tolerant because I'm not easy to live with. They'd have to like snuggling too :P

I don't really care for looks, but I hate people who are really, really preoccupied with their appearance. Its nice to look good, but when its an obsession, its worrying.

I dunno. I don't really have a 'type'.

No, but seriously a good sense of humor and laid back attitude are the highest priorities for me. Don't bring the high matinence stuff (I'm no janitor). Also someone who is at least semi intelligent and informed about worldy matters and has a few shreds of common sense. Quirkiness is also a good thing too.

Also, I would just like to say that I am strapping young 19 year old 6'2 with an athletic muscular build equipped with the charm of politician, a good sense of humor, and a great personality... just in case anyone wanted to know ;)

personality is what matters most, however as many people seem to be describing the person of their dreams, gotta say, pettite, long hair, perky, not obsesed with looks but cares how she looks (if that maks sense)
 
Dark hair and dark eyes, say no more, and if the girl happens to have an Irish accent then OMG!!!! I prefer curvier girls to skinny ones to tell the truth although im not bias. And i like girls with nice hair not messed up or with some ridiculous fashion haircut.
As far as intelligence goes, i dont really care tbh. Im not Einstein so i prefer girls on the same level as me, just not a total div.

EDIT - girls who look like keeley hazel..where do you find them?
 
Well, You have your favorites, but it's not as if you wouldn't look outside that.

BUT, to pick things I like and don't.
Super little skinny tiny girls. Probably wouldn't work. Im a big guy, I might break a small little gall :p

CUTE goes a lot further than HOT.
I always saw it like this.
HOT comes and goes, but CUTE will last for ever.
For example, look wise, most super models will look crappy when they are old I think. But take someone like Drew Barrymore, CUTE face, which I think lasts through the ages.

I have always had a thing for girls with Colored hair, piercings, tats, just little Punk rock looking girls in general. Never had much luck though, especially in Highschool where girls look more like that at the time. They always seemed to go for the skinny little what I called CURE boys. But they are nice to look at regardless.

I like girls hair down. I don't know why but I always thought when their har was all put up for 100s of dollars for some prom or dance, it just looked silly. Girls look better with their hair DOWN.

Ehm...handfull or more is always a nice size...ehm.

Personality wise.
HAVE TO HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. The further your humor goes, and the less sensorship on it, the better. Because Ill joke about anything.

I like smart girls, stupid girls turn me off no matter how good looking. Don't be stupid, stupid is just ... well... Stupid.

I am to laid back to handle someone who Is Bitchy. Bitchy is up there with Stupid. You wan't someone you can bitch at and be cold with, find someone else because im to damn warm hearted to deal with that.

Artistic, I love this. Which is one thing I find hard to find around where I live, all the artsy girls are online for some reason but I have never done the "Meeting someone Online" thing. But Artistic is up there with Humor for me. I Love it.

Anyway, really one could go on and on. But one must try not to be to picky, or you may just miss someone perfect for you. But Im currently single so what ever haha.
 
I know it sounds cliche, but definitely personality over looks. An overall sense of humour that mixes intelligent wit and silliness, impressive geek-streak in there and romantic but not overwhelming. If there *needs* to be a physical description: I like tall men (much like my boyfriend <3) and I like really curvy girls. Turn-offs are a lack of personal hygiene, dishonesty and people who're two-faced.

Final note: excessively muscular women terrify me.


**Forgot one more thing: creativity and a little spontaneity. In a very universal sense ;)
