A few years back all gas stations in my country offered a free air compressor auto-service, if your tired needed some air you could go to any Texaco (all gas stations in my country are Texaco) and fill it, but now they are replacing all air compressors that were free of charge for ones that cost you a small fee.

The price to use this new model is about 20 cents of American dollars (using conversion from pesos) I know is not much but is still money and you are paying for air here, air... is ridiculous, sometimes you don't even have coins with you.

I refuse to pay for air this is unbelievable

*gasps i've run outta airs must break piggy bank and pay the almighty air! *gasps*

actually you are not paying for the air....but your paying for the use of the expensive air compressor...but it still should be free...they are just trying to make up for the money they are losing from the gas

This has been something that has been around for as long as I can remember, so therefore my opinion is probably biased, but...yeah, don't want to pay the measly 20 cents, then don't expect to use the cool pump.

Just another way of taking advantage of people in need.

Since it costs so much to make the machines that pressurize the air, they need to get a profit. Anyway, you aren't paying for air, but for the pressure. I wanna see you fill a tire without one of those machines.

Over here, everyone's a whining gas-bag, so if we ever had to pay for pumping up our wheels there'd be an impossibly huge uproar.

Suffice to say, I think such small mercies are a given over here. Complainers ftw.

Think about it, what is 20 cents going to buy in a shop. We have to pay for air at our local gas station (im in the uk) and they are already charging an extortionate amount of money for gas/petrol.

If you dont want to pay for air, then get yourself a hand pump :P

uhmp, I see that in some countries you pay and in othe you don't.

Well the thing is that only two years ago here in my country you could pump air to your weels in any gas station for no cost, you could go pump and leave, if it was free before why do they have to charge now, even if it is only a few cents is still money, is not that I'm cheap is the principle
