I have to defeat the Imperial Commander at the Larai Graveyard so that I could go over to the Chapel, the enemies around are so weak I barely get any exp. and the boss is too hard. He's using his boody potions.
It's the first time I'm doing this so help me, someone. I'm level 4 (i think)

Dope up on potions and give that bastard hell. If you're too weak, you should spend some Attribute Points to improve your stats. And don't forget to get the Iron Sword from Ralius if you haven't already. This boss is easy, but first-time RPGers can find things tough. In any case, I can provide you with an Alchemists Sword, some Boots, and a Helm so that you will have better defense.

And advice; don't balance all your stats. If you plan to be a Warrior/Assasin Raise mainly your Hp/Dex Def or Eva. HP is always a must as well Spd. Don't bother raising both Eva and Def otherwise your wasting your levels. If you plan to be a Mage (the most diccicult class) I suggest you work hard on MP/HP, Def, Mag, Mag Def, Spd.

To be a Warrior, Assasin or Mage. You can only made that choice when you made your way to Rabanastre

Follow Alphonse's advice and you will do well, when you get to Sapphire Forest levels will rise quickly.

Thanks for contributing Ruka. You can refer to me, Laro, as a model as to what happens when you balance your stats. And once you get up to a higher level feel free to join the Nebulars in RPG Clan Factions.

I already spend all of them on my strength, defence, HP and evasion. I already have the sword. I guess I should try and get lots of potions. It will take time to defeat that boss. I need some patience -__-

Hmmm... with you spending those Attribute Points that way, you're best off being an Assassin because along with Speed and Dexterity, they need to specialize in those stats. Oh and if you follow my advice don't spend a lot of points on Defense because with high Evasion you wont need it.
Good luck! He isn't the last Imperial you'll beat. A few pop up in the areas you get access to after beating the Commander.

Wrong. There are monsters with over 400 dex and the max eva is 300 so if you put them all into eva you will only make it easier at the beginning. Also def don't help much when they have much higher str then you, so I believe the no def route to be the best. That is how I went and look at me I amd the current top member in level and tied for farthest area.

Well, I guess you should focus some stats into DEF but focus on EVA first. The Assassin tunnels can be hell if you don't buff up on EVA because Night Elves have a very strong weapon that can deal over 40 damage if it connects. Spend 5 points in one stat every time you level up; it's what I've been doing and it's been working well.

thats not the best way to look at it. evasion is fine when yo uare still in the assassin tunnels, and all that, but it wont mean a thing when you hit 300 and the enemy has 500 DEX. So once you leave the tunnels, i suggest you get some items with high defence, and start building your DEF. i take barely more than 200 damage (out of 1800) and sometimes, it deals 0 damage.

just dont focus solely on EVA since it doesnt mean a thing after the tunnels.

off topic:
@Haji: i have highest level now :P I be lvl 130

Uh... you just contradicted yourself. You say that there are monsters with higher DEX than the max EVA, but you still say that it's the best way. Let's let Laro decide what to do.

No I said that it only helps at the beginning. When you get to the later areas it is useless. and also you can get through the tunnels by focusing on being strong with str. that is how I went and it helped greatly.

...Whatever. Laro, good luck with the RPG and if you need some help click on Ingus in my signature.

Basically Laro you give them nothing to one up you in and you can beat the tunnels easy. the most common areas are dex and spd with others in every now and then. if you have little defenses then when you fight one who has lots of defenses you can bypass them easy because your stats enable you to. When I went through the tunnels I had no eva no def and no mag def and I went through them in one day heck maybe even an hour. So try not to use defencive areas. Also I was the first member to his 300 str.

Well, actually for the Mage tunnels you NEED defensive stats, should you decide to be one. Enemies with spells like Massacre or Immolate can kick your ass if you don't have any MAG DEF to stop it. The enemies in the last two areas are outfitted with Berserk which can really kill you if you don't have any defensive stats. Therefore, Mages need to specialize in almost every stat so I wouldn't suggest being one.
