I just beat the Malboro when I was on my way to Muskadet. I delivered the armor like the dude told me to and now I don't know where to go. Somebody help me please!

He did. However nothing opened up on my map or in my quest log. I have revisited every place that I have ever been to and there are no new destinations. I have to deliver a mage masher to Gordon at Knight Tower. Where is it?

Ehh you should have access to Knight's tower already. If it's not open talk to Cid in Southern Cyril Beach and say yes about wanting to be a paladin, then talk to the one gaurd in Midgar, and they will grant you access to Knight's tower.

Gotta new question.
Does the strength stat on armor matter or is it's defense rating the only thing that matters?
Vice versa for weapons. Does the defense stat matter on weapons?

Yes, it does... it does not add to you characters actually stats, but it goes into the equation in which damage is figured out.
