Help I need help beating Final Boss.., any help would much appreciated...

first you need to get yourself sorted by having nearly all the sphere grid abilities and defenses set in and have 99 of each item. what you need to do is also make sure everyone has stoic overdrive system kicked in because of the amount of damage he deals. after you have one this part of the battle you will go to the next against yu yevon and the best thing to do there is use your spare change ability and knock him six ways from sunday, u want to cast on yu yevon reflect as it will stop him from replenishing his health every time you hit him. good luck :)

Actually, you have automatic auto life for the last boss, so you won't get a game over unless you deliberately petrify yourself.

yeah too true but the problem there is when you hit him he casts curaga on himself pretty much everytime so whatever damage you do it get replenished, but as long as you cast the reflect your all good, but as you say the only time you can die is if you petrify yourself.

when i did it i didnt have any ultimate weapons all u need is about 10 melixer (i cant spell very good) and Lu Lu arouen and tidus thats the people i had and use hastaga at the beginning and just keep on attacking but with arouen use power break and armorer break

If you keep pounding Jecht he will fall eventually. Always be bold and only bring Yuna in to heal if its absolutley necesarry. You shouldnt keep her around permanently because you shouldnt need to heal every turn and she cant do much offensivley unless you switch her into another Sphere Grid. Her summons should be your back up plan if you start to fall away. A good strategy would be the following, just change it around to suit you.

Jecht's First Form.
  • Use Tidus to *Talk to Jecht* when his Overdrive meter almost gets full. It wont work on his second form, so use them all up now. I think it only works twice. So try and beat him down before his overdrive meter fills up for a third time. Make sure you use Haste and Slow in combination to maximise the amount of times you get to attack. You'll be surprised how effective this is if you use it properly.
  • Use Auron/Kimahri to beat up on the Pagodas. Eliminating them is key to A) Keeping Jecht's Overdrive meter lower and B) To stop him recovering too much HP. Kimahri has the added bonus of being able to use Mighty Guard which is really handy, as well as powerful attacks like Nova.
  • USE Rikku. People who dont use her are idiots. Her speed stat is absolutley insane and she is fantastic as a healer because she can Use items like Al Bhed Potions to heal the party in one turn. Switch her in for your slowest member to heal the party. Then switch her out for the same character, Tidus on his next turn should use a high powered healing item to heal the remaining character.
  • Lulu should be your third attacker. Use her to pound Jecht with magic. If she has Doublecast as well as Haste and the enemy has Slow then you can really get alot of Flare's and the damage builds up quickly. Stand by with MP restoration items with Tidus, and in a pinch, switch in Rikku and check your Use items. You'll be surprised what you have in there and odds are she can heal Lulu's MP with some item in there.
  • Any other stat enhancers are bonuses so if you have a spare turn put them up. Just remember to keep attacking and try and be as offensive as possible because turtling and just trying to stay alive will not work. You'll just get beaten up.
Jecht's Second Form
  • Hes got double HP here so go with the same strategy as before. If things start to get annoying or hard, then bring in one of Yuna's Aeons. Bahamut, Anima or Magus Sisters will work well. These guys can really add to the damage bill for Jecht. Particularly if they get an Overdrive. Just keep pounding and he'll go down eventually.
If you're far enough into the Sphere Grid you shouldnt have any problems. If you are struggling still, go to the Omega Ruins and get more AP.

The Speed stat is extremely underrated in Final Fanatsy and im very big on it. It really does make a difference in Final Fantasy X. :mandi:
